Least there were nice new stickers on the seat numbers in the South Stand.

Might have been an idea to also put them on the row numbers :dunce:

There were quite a few season ticket holders who didn't turn up yesterday, probably because they heard that loads of fair weather fans would be turning up!!

Quite suprised by the attendance to be honest. When I phoned up for my ticket on Monday I was told that there weren't many left. Ok so probably 500 odd empty seats were down to the pikeys, but did 1500 others really not turn up?

Not such a sacrifice sitting at home watching AC Milan v Arsewipe knowing a £10 tickets is going to waste, I bet they must of been loving it looking out the window seeing the sleet while sipping on nice warm cuppa tea.........until they saw the score!

where where there 1,500 spare seats? From where I was in J block the whole ground apart from the away end looked nigh on full. There didn't seem to be any spare seats anywhere near us until the 4 people in front of us left when the rain started.

Quite a few people travel from Hampshire, Kent and London so being a Tuesday evening makes it more difficult than a Friday when generally it is easier to get away from work.
Some parents also like children to have an earlier bed time midweek.
I don't know how many Gills fans there were but I estimate that there were 500 missing.
Of course the cold would have had an effect as well.

I was convinced there were well over 7,000 last night. I too was shocked when they announced the attendance

My thoughts exactly....from where I sat, apart from the away end, the ground looked almost full!

Definately could not see 1500 empty seats!

Same here. You can usually estimate by the size of the queues at the bogs at half-time and the amount of congestion round the burger vans. Failing that, the time it takes to get through the tunnel at the end.

That appeared to be a 7000-plus attendance.

There were 8,000 tickets sold inc. returns which means about 1,200 absentees. I noticed the family stand looked pretty packed from where I was sitting even though it was a school night. It was a freezing cold night and perhaps the 'fair weather' supporters thought Champions league on telly was a better option as it had only cost them a tenner after all.

I thought that the attendance was well over 7000 too. Apparently only 500 odd more than Saturday officially. Given that there were about 400 less away fans there still seemed well over 900 more fans around the ground. No way were there 2000 spaces.

Attendance was between 7200-7500, I reckon.
