2 Strikers at the club

Ok so there is Hart but in reality he is not up to the job, regardless of his excellent service to the club down the years he just isn't good enough any more, we had better bloody hope that a) Forster sorts himself out, or b) Poyet thinks Barker is ready and can cut the mustard, or c) We are getting someone f***ing GOOD in on loan.

Didn't Poyet say that he hated the loan system the other night? Because he hates players not being willing to fight for their place, instead just asking for a loan.

I wonder whether Poyet would prefer a small squad of players that want to be at Brighton, rather than have wantaway players.

You'd hope it was c) but Dickinson has already gone. I'd have wanted c) to happen before he went tbh.

Hart is roughly as good as Dickinson as a support type player who doesn't score themselves. I'm hoping Fozzie is back (which will be a big boost ahead of the Leeds game) AND possibly another LuaLua style loanee in.

how many loanees can we play in the starting 11?
Say Calderon gets injured, we would have Hoyte, Lualua and Painter starting

we cannot loan to many more in as they wouldnt all be able to play, we need a striker badly though. Forster was out of form for the 2 weeks running up to him toy chucking

Right here, right now
Maybe the rest will have done him some good and he will be raring to go for the remainder of the season?
Or he will need another couple of games to get his match fitness back!

Albion boss Gus Poyet has let Liam Dickinson join Peterborough on loan, because he cannot guarantee him a regular place.

Dickinson's move to London Road for the rest of the season reunites him with Jim Gannon, his former manager at Stockport.

Poyet told The Argus: "He knows he is going to be in and out, depending on so many things.

"The manager there knows him personally and knows how to get the best out of him. He just wants to play football."

Dickinson's departure, after six goals in 32 appearances this season, leaves Albion with a strike force of Glenn Murray, Chris Holroyd, Gary Hart and the out-of-favour Nicky Forster, whose contract dispute remains unresolved.

Poyet confirmed Forster's situation is "still the same".

Asked if he will be moving back into the loan market for another forward, Poyet added: "Probably but there are options in every single department, not only one."

So the Forster situation hasn't been resolved contrary to some of the supposition on here surrounding the Dickinson loan.

So the Forster situation has not been reolved yet, if the next headline on the Albion page reads "Murray injured in training' or the like, then that leaves us so so light up front. Very confused by this loan deal.....

What Dickinson wants is neither here nor there. I cannot begin to see how Gus considers him surplus to requirements at the moment, given the fact we currently only have an unproven non-league striker, a striker who hasn't scored at home in nearly a year, and another striker who hasn't scored in about 4 years.

If Gus hasn't got someone else lined up then I really do fear for us. Its a bizarre decision.

Agreed.
If we don't have someone in by Thursday, I will be very, very concerned.
If we go down after all this, I really think Gus will get the chop...
