Apologies if I have had an abberation but I think there have only been two that were played at home?

Anyway, were you there? what are your memories of the blinding 5-0 defeat of Hartlepool at the Goldtone and the dullness of fireman's hats and the 0-0 draw with Doncaster at Gillingham?

Oh yes, there for both. I was holding a banner at the first one and the clip seemed to be shown on telly more times than the Test Card - much to the annoyance of my (then) 5 yr old son standing next to me who wasn't shown!

For the Doncaster game I wore a St Pauli shirt. I then had to pretend to be German and say "Ok, no vorries" every time a Brighton fan came up and thanked me for coming!

My brother wore his Southampton shirt in that first one and got loads of "thanks for coming" messages...before buggering off back to his flat off Ditchling Road.

And remember that Real Madrid flag in the West? Did anyone else think "Oh do f*** off, that's Peacehaven!" ?

Only the Hartlepool one. I wore a green St.Etienne shirt. Not sure how many people really thought I was a ginger frenchman.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who wore another shirt! I DID feel a bit self-conscious, I thought 'what prat wears another team's shirt to watch his own team play?', but I wanted the Pauli shirt seen so that it was noted that they'd attended. In fact a load of genuine Pauli were there so I needn't have worried.

. I remember sitting in the south stand and not having a clue that we'd scored in the north end until the crowd went mental. Not sure I've ever seen FOG like that, maybe bar Leicester at Withdean a few years ago.

Oh, and Gary Hobson scored - that made it a great day in itself:clap:

Fog? I must be going senile I don't remember that all

The first one (5 nil game) was the foggiest day ever!

One of my fondest memories of being a football fan that day. I wandered around outside the north stand with my mouth wide open at the scenes. We won 5 nil and at the end of the game there was no way on earth we were going to go down that season but strangely at the time it wouldn't really have mattered if we did the way I was feeling.

Oh and I took a stoat along and she loved it and let me play with her later on that evening! Happy days! It was shortly after that I met Tubby Mondays and my life has been in a downward spiral ever since!

The Doncaster game is possibly the worst game of professional football I have ever seen! How both teams scored ZERO is beyond me!

Chester was shite as well, Friday night, took about 9 hours to get there due to a pile up near Birmingham and we had to wait until the last minute to get anywhere near the goal.

I went to Wimbledon V Forest at Smellhurst as well......get me uberfan!

Uberfan here-went to all 3 involving Brighton plus the Wrecsam one. The Hartlepool one being the most memorable and significant-anybody that was there will probably never forget the occasion, including all the fans of other clubs who were there.

Way out west
Didn't make either of ours, but did go to a similar match at Clydebank...proudly wearing the stripes, one of their fans had advertised it on NSC and invited us to attend...thought that as I only lived in Edinburgh it would be rude not to go. It turned out to be a right laugh, there weren't many English fans there...just me and some blokes from Sunderland...but maybe a dozen Scottish clubs represented.

The bloke who organised the whole thing also arranged their sponsorship deal with Wet Wet Wet, I suggested on NSC at the time that it would be a good idea if we could try something similar...have always wondered if someone from the club agreed with me and that is how FBS became involved!

Sadly it was all to no avail as the Bankies folded shortly afterwards, or should I say that they were bought out by the bloke who owned Airdrieonians and then became Airdree Utd.
