Looks like it's on again at 4pm today, 1055am Thurs, 925am Sunday.
We're playing some lovely stuff... don't want to give the result away though!

didn't realise they were a second divison side at the time so we should've had a bit more quality.

I think they'd just won promotion and we'd been relegated? In which case, a tough one to call - although it was really the only time in the entire cup run that we were favourites.

Still Somewhere in Sussex!
little did those players on the pitch realise they would be worshiped 25 years later on an athletics track for finishing 2nd

Brought a tear to my eye

I think they missed out on promotion that year. Finished 6th or 7th i think (pre-play-offs of course).

One of my colleagues (and friends) here in the office is a Wednesdayite, but we can't remember who scored for them that day. Can someone fill me in?

Ante Mirocevic - it was his last game for them

Mirocevic was the Owls first 'foreign' signing in August 1980 for £250,000 from FC Buducnost, his home town club.

It was two months later before he could play for Wednesday due to various work permit issues and he did score on his debut. Unfortunately he never really settled at Wednesday and was a very inconsistent performer. He was probably best remembered for scoring in the 1982-3 FA Cup semi final at Highbury against Brighton.

After 3 years he requested a move back home for family reasons and he returned to the club that sold him to The Owls.

A year later he retired and spent 2 years gaining coaching certificates. He then took charge of his home town club for a short spell before moving into the backroom to coach and scout until 2002.

He's now president of the Juvenile Football Committee of Montenegro in Serbia
