As I said before. This tournament should be boycotted.

According to the Guardian investigative reports, the death toll to date for the Nepalese workers alone comes to 382. This does not take into account the Indian, Pakistan or migrant workers for Sri Lanka, not to mention the deaths that have gone unreported. We can quite realistically assume that young men earning 150K a week will be playing over the graves and bodies of, at conservative estimates, at least a thousand slaves. It makes me seriously question the sanity, morality and moral justification of the modern game. FIFA is a corrupt cancer and clubs and international football associations need to stand up and be counted.

The article also makes clear that the 185 deaths - which will rise to at least 193 when other known cases are officially registered - is just amongst Nepalese workers. And that Nepalese make up only a sixth of all the migrant workers in Qatar. Figures for workers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and other countries are yet to be released. So if the death rate amongst migrant workers from these other countries were to be the same as it is for Nepalese, then we'd be looking at over 1100 deaths per year. Is there any reason to believe it would be lower for other nationalities? Truly shocking. Time to put pressure on Fifa sponsors and companies with contracts in Qatar?
