Possible/Probable squad for Boxing Day:

GK: Ankergren
DF: El-Abd, Greer, Dunk, Taricco
MF: Navarro, Bridcutt, Harley
FW: Lua-Lua, CMS, Noone

Subs: Brezovan, Sparrow, Buckley, Paynter + ???

Injured: Elphick, Calderon, Painter, Dicker, Vicente & Hoskins (I am assuming the last 2 as they seem to be perma-crocks).
Suspended: Vincelot, Barnes

Ideal opportunity for a Development Squad player to step up, or maybe recall Steve Cook as have only 4 fit and available defenders? Bit of a concern as we have 3 games to play in a week before getting anyone in on loan/permanent.

Stick a couple of development squad players in there.

31st December is the cut off point for 5 yellows so if the above (apart from Dunk) get through the next 2 games without a yellow then they're in the clear.

Maybe we'll have to get Vicente to hobble around :D

Anyway, this might not necessarily be a bad thing. The likes of Cook and development team players may step up earlier than anticipated but deliver and give us something new/alternative.

Think positive! :)

Cook did well against Liverpool and has had good games at Bournemouth apart from his og last Sat.

Maybe that manger of ours will put Jake on the bench. Or will it take our entire midfield to be banned before he considers that option.

For all the noise to give Forster-Caskey a run out, the stand-out player in the DS this season in terms of creating and scoring goals from midfield is Ryan Simmonds, but my guess is that if anyone gets promoted to the bench it will be Yasser Kasim or Grant Hall to add balance.

Interesting to contrast the attitude of Steve Cook who seems to be a model pro and today attended the kids' Christmas party and carol concert for his loan club, with that of some of our other young players who seem (based purely on their twitter feeds) to have no interest in the club beyond their own little bit of the action. To some extent it is up to the club to set the standard but I'm not sure we are doing that tbh and there seems to be quite a gulf between the world of the first team squad and "the rest"

I meant this season. Well, actually I didn't think to check back for previous years, but yes, he also played in a league match toward the end of the 2009/10 season. Poke also played in the league cup v northampton last season. Have clarified my post.
