[Football] 120+ Football fans dead after game

Reports are saying that more than 120 people have died after riots followed a Liga 1 game in Java. Having been to a game in Liga 1, I know how passionate the fans are, and I also witnessed a heavy security presence. The game I was at was a local derby in West Java and there were water cannons parked outside and police everywhere - even though one of the teams had more or less zero fans present. They do take football very seriously (even though they are rubbish at it) but these scenes today were absolutely terrible and I suspect the league will be suspended again for a long time, not just the initial week (which, sadly, has happened quite a few times for a variety of reasons).

Awful, truly awful. Reading that article, it sounds like the police were overly heavy in their actions which added to the situation. Sounds a horrendous feck up by the club and everyone involved in the organisation.

“Angered at the teams first loss at home for 23 years the fans stormed the pitch”. Something doesn’t add up about this ! Seems very odd. And that’s a crazy amount of people to die from this event. Horrific.
