Michael Ricketts (Preston North End) & Lee Hughes (Her Majesty's Pleasure) have totalled nearly £12m of transfer fees in their careers and they now both have signed for Oldham Athletic for free... This has the potential to be the best strike force in the League One, however, I reckon it also has the potential to go badly wrong!

Ricketts is shit.
Moral issues aside, Hughes is a BRILLIANT signing.

Certainly both big gambles.

Ricketts will fail I think, other than Bolton he's never been good anywhere, his attitude is awful, and he's fat.

Hughes the killer is a more interesting one, he was a good player before he ended a man's life, he has not played real competitive football for three years and will surely get dogs abuse wherever he goes, so there are two big hurdles for him, a mental one and a physical one. I fancy him to do more than Ricketts though.

Ricketts is the worst player I have EVER seen at Withdean.
I appreciate that is quite a claim, but I stand by it.

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Even though Hughes has served part of his sentence, I am not sure I could bring myself to watch him play. I know that shouldn't be an issue, but he tried to get away with murder/manslaughter.
