did you celebrate the new year with the 1st bong of big ben or the 12th?

At liquid in Worthing they waited till the 12th!!

What a let down.. it had been 2005 for about 30 secs already!

There is always one strike of the bell (ie 1 o'clock) whereas when it strikes 12 it takes a few seconds .
This is why the time changes on the first stroke.
