What a pathetic attendance from the league leaders. Apathy really seems to have set in there. We are still leading the league in average attendance figures yet the media seem obsessed by all the ex-premiership clubs. At what point are we allowed to call ourselves a big club?

I hope you're not suggesting Blackburn are a big club?
A joke club maybe, but a big club definitely not.

Once we have sustained the big crowds over a long period of time. It's common belief that should the club fail to go up, the crowd sizes will begin to decrease again.

I have a strong dislike of Blackburn.

Albion v Blackburn was my first game in 1977 when we were on the rise. So, as you can imagine, I've never got my head around Blackburn being above us in the league at all. I remember when they won (bought) the premiership sitting in disbelief that Blackburn (Blackburn! - spit it out everybody!), that Blackburn had won the bloody league.

I will dislike them even more if they go up, and after Palace, this is one set of games I really want us to win.

Oh, and I hate Bolton too. Boring and Gartside is an arrogant fool.

For a town with a population a little more than Crawley, I am always staggered how well they do. They can thank Jack Walker for his huge investment and the trust he put in place before he died in 2000 for that though. Only problem I have with any of these relegated teams is their right to these parachute payments. Totally unfair IMO.

They never filled Ewood in the Prem, so no chance of a full house now. Try are just a small suburb of Burnley.

After all the shit Kean as got over the last couple of years, I hope he takes them all the way to the last couple of games then purposely blows it before telling Backburn to F off!

its not surprising really is it? We have a brand new stadium, and are exctited to be playing in this division. Blackburn were not well supported in prem so championship footy is not going to be a big draw. There is a lot of anger at the club and owners etc and people are skint.

Think we should count our blessings - one thing is for sure if we were relegated to league 1 i dont think 26k would be attending would they?

not sure i get this obsession with attendances - were we banging on about 4,500 people at the withdean for rochdale at home?

Blackburn's attendance tonight....

Still a higher attendance than the last game at the Goldstone!
Still higher than any home game at Gillingham!
Still higher than any game at Withdean!

With a rather limited major honours list, and no appearance in the top flight in over the last 25 years, we're going to have to sustain our very recent high attendances for at least a decade (rather than little over a season) if we want to be considered a 'big club.'

oooh an attendance thread. This is novel.

If you ever go out to the pub or somewhere else with your mates and they start talking about something, do you tell them they cant talk about it because you talked about it last week? This is NSC and generally we post the same shit every week, just adding my own contribution to the pile.

1-that was the capped capacity at the last Goldstone game (also division 4)
2-it was division 4
3-capped capacity again.

Put Blackburn in Division 4 and see how their attendances go. Also could they survive an assault from their very own Mr Archer?

Blackburn are not bigger than Brighton .

Getting snobbish about crowds again, great. (apart from when it's Palace).

It's a small town, they're probably still charging Premier League prices against Championship opposition, there's a recession on, and historically they've never been a colossal club, even when winning the PL one year. Give the ones who do go credit, not take the piss out of the ones who don't.

There's some truth in this but comparing the last game at the Goldstone is unfair. The club were in big trouble, the football was dire etc. Blackburn are, however, top of the league. Poor, poor, poor.
