£1.4 Million Slade v Coppell

Lots of support for Slade spending the next £Million over Coppell spending it. I disagree with you

One point, in response to your question, is that Coppell seems to be happy out of the game now. And, although this is not really relevant, I was bought up singing some very nasty things about that man. Even when he was with us I couldn't support him (sad, maybe, but true) and he did, with the support of Dick Knight, walk out on us.

And, as we've found out on a couple of occasions, it's not a good idea to go back to a previous manager.

He has brought in 10/11 new players, most cost money, I think two or three at least were at least £300K, he is pushing at least £900,000 or 1 Million at least. The question is, Coppell or Slasde to spend the next £1Milllion?

He has spent, at most 800k of the 1.4 million. Forster 75k, Davies 75k, McNulty 150k and Murray 300k were all bought before he arrived. Slade has paid money for-I think- Dickinson, Bennet, Dicker, Tunnicliffe and Jake Wright.

The question should be, has he spent it well? The answer: we need more time than 9 league games to tell.

Another question could be: Hypothetically, would Coppel spend 1million pounds well. The answer: IMO probably.

Jamie, don't be a twat.

Coppell wouldn't join a club in League 1, and Slade shouldn't be sacked.

Falmer on the way, money to spend, you never know until you ask him. Its harsh on Slade I agree, but thats life. Need to be cold and calm when spending cash.

1) Slade shouldn't be sacked it's September for fucks sake
2) Let's say for arguements sake you do bring in Coppell now he can't sign anyone untill January anyway.
3) Who's to say Coppell will be a success if he comes back, Micky's return was hardly the greatest masterstroke (Coppell is a much better manager i know but the point still stands)
4) Coppell wouldn't drop down to a mid table league 1 team at an athletics track

But you really need to keep your nerve when you've got a relatively new manager in place who's just given the squad something of an overhaul. If Bloom listens to all the idiots who want to change a manager every time we have a losing streak then Falmer will need a revolving front door.

Coppell is available, so no. I take it you would give the next £Million to Slade, I beg to differ

Who said we've got another million to spend in the near future anyway?!!

We are in the process of BUILDING/ RE-BUILDING the team - it takes time and patience!!

dear oh dear El P. You can't stand it if someone has a view or an idea that is not our own. Is it insecurity?

No he's like most of us, we have a profound aversion to utter stupidity.

Coppell is a good manager and a nice bloke, but to me he is also a bottler and a pal*ce c**t with VD who took us down and jumped ship at the first opportuntiy. I wouldn't have him back on principle.

Coppell would only squander it on treatment for his VD.

Normally I wouldnt respond to these manager in/out discussions but this has reached a new level of stupidity.

Firstly how the hell does Lennie Lawrence know exactly how much we have spent on transfers?

Secondly how long has Slade actually been here so how the hell could he be slagged off for not winning anything, you quote Fergie as an example, nearly sacked by Man Utd for having a slow start.

Focus on supporting the manager at present, if we in the shite next year then start slagging him off.
