The match officials for Burnley v Brighton in Premier League have been confirmed.
Albion are set to visit Turf Moor to take on Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday, and will have the delight of seeing Simon “Hoops” Hooper in charge of proceedings.
Burnley are scrapping for their lives, and will be targeting a win against goal-shy and out-of-sorts Albion, whilst nothing less than three points will do if Roberto De Zerbi is going to steer Brighton to a second consecutive season of European football.
Albion have a tough run-in, and whilst there are few easy games in the Premier League, the Clarets offer the best chance of picking up three points. Albion fans would have had the same thoughts back in early December when Vincent Kompany brought his side to the Amex, with Hoops also officiating.
Albion’s 72% possession and 29 shots weren’t enough to ensure a home win as James Trafford put on an inspired display in the Burnley goal. The final 1-1 scoreline made for a frustrating afternoon for those of a blue-and-white persuasion.
Albion have had otherwise mixed fortunes under Simon Hooper this season. He oversaw the 4-1 thrashing of Crystal Palace at the Amex and, more recently, oversaw the 3-0 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Adrian Holmes and Simon Long have been appointed as Hooper’s assistants at Turf Moor, with Rob Jones set to ruin everyone’s afternoon from the cosy confines of Stockley Park.
