Two years from today

The first league game at Falmer. Assuming of course we can persuade Sussex Police and the football league to let us play at home that day. Playing the first home game on a Tuesday night would be a bummer.

Mind you, if we get promotion this year and again next year it will be two years and one week from today.

The club can request a home fixture for the opening league game but its all up to the fixtures computer to work out the practicalities. As Pride in 2012 wont be held the first week in August due to the Olympics (as festivals and events will be strictly curtailed during this period) it could be an opportunity to bring forward Pride 2011 to the middle or end of July.

Yeah, but perry said that they'd sort that out when the fixtures came out, pride would need to be rearranged a year early!

Or just cancel the :safeway SHITFEST.

If our first game is away because of Pride of for some other reason then the first home game would normally be the following Tuesday. Whether we can ask for two away games in a row I don't know, I just think the first league game at Falmer should be on a Saturday.

Because of the physical location out of town at Falmer we may be able to persuade the police that we can play there on the same day as Pride takes over Brighton. But they would probably not be keen if it was a club who were likely to bring a lot of supporters, or a (perceived) problem team such as Leeds, Millwall, etc.

So probably best to get two away games first then have the first game on the 2nd Saturday of the season.
