I don't need an excuse to post this goal again, even though it was against dirty Leeds :lolol:

At the end of that clip you can hear Bielsa's interpreter saying , "What a very very nice goal indeed " , spot on Marcus .

For me it's rather spoiled by the fact Maupay didn't header it home.

a galaxy far far away
For all the progressive passes in that goal, my favourite is the Pascal Gross lay off right at the start of the move.

i think it was "what a lovely lovely goal " and that was Chris Waddle who was commentating for 5 Live.
you can listen back to that commentary here - from about 16 minutes

The "What a very nice goal indeed!" was Steve Wilson commentating for MotD. I assume that it was picked up by Sky's sound recording as he was close to them in the booth, but I'm suspending disbelief because I like to imagine that he shouted it at the top of his voice across Elland Road.

This, it was exquisite

As lovely as that was I still rate Trossard's higher (just).

His muscle memory would have said 'pass it on'.
It then would have been screaming (for a policeman) 'touch then pass'.

Neither would have worked.

To have the skill and speed of thought to take 2 touches before playing the dead weight perfect pass, takes some doing.

If Manchester United or Liverpool had scored it Neville and Carragher would still be giving each other a reacharound.

It won't win, but I fully expect the goal to be included in the short-list for January's Goal of The Month.

So just when Leeds fans have got over it, it will pop up again on MOTD2 at the end of the month, complete with a funky soundtrack over the top of it for added enjoyment.
