All wrong, IMO.

The next Albion international will be SOLLY MARCH, especially if Potter persists with playing him at wing back. England have very, very few decent options on the left side of defence.

But Southgate doesn’t use wing backs, so probably wouldn’t pick March, Southgate is on record saying he won’t pick Coady from Wolves as he plays in a back 3. Rose, Shaw and maybe a rejuvenated Bertrand are ahead of March for now, that’s before Sessegnon settles at Spurs.

Southgate HAS used wing-backs, and could choose to do so again. If March has a good few months he has a very really chance of getting a call.

If he proves he can play effectively in the PL in a defensive position as well as having already done so in both forward wide positions, he'll look a very attractive flexible option for a 23-man tournament squad.

Also worth noting it was Southgate who played him for the U21's where he did well.

Of course, there’s every chance he could use wing-backs again, but the refusal to pick Coady simply because he plays in a wing-back formation suggests it’s not something he’s looking at utilising any time soon. I would also add that I’ll be absolutely delighted if March can prove to be an attractive option as an attacker for England, he’d be performing exceptionally well to be in amongst Sterling, Sancho, Rashford, Redmond, Hudson Odoi etc.
