What a shocking season Fulham have had: 3 managers 12 new signings and £100 million spent. Every player bar Mitrovic has been a disappointment. Cairney's season has been like Knockaerts last season, while Sessegnon has been disappointing. I fully expect one of the North London clubs to throw him a lifeline.

I absolutely love this idea that repeatedly signing players from relegated teams is a sure fire recipe for success. Born winners.

23 Man squad of current PL players relegated with a previous team:

GK: Pickford (2017), Foster (2018), Fabianski (2018)

DF: Trippier (2015), Robertson (2014), Maguire (2014), Keane (2015), Manquillo (2017), Evans (2018), Jagielka (2007), Burn (2014)

MF: Gueye (2016), Wijnaldum (2016), Sissoko (2016), Snodgrass (2014), Redmond (2014), Townsend (2016), McArthur (2013)

ATT: Zaha (2014), Shaqiri (2018), Mitrovic (2016), Rondon (2018), Austin (2015)

I left out Wolves' Traore for overdoing it: Relegated twice with two different teams; Villa in 2016 and 'Boro in 2017.

Cardiff will survive - I reckon the 3rd place is between us and Burnley.
Cardiff got a couple of shock wins on the back if the Emiliano plane crash where fans and players were possibly sub consciously galvanised by that tragic event. Without those wins they would be almost gone by now. I don't see them as being capable of getting the 9 points they probably need to stay up

They are 45/1 to beat City tomorrow.........

The worst thing about Fulham going down is that Craven Cottage is one of the best away grounds to visit. Lovely location, locals reasonably friendly, and our record (aside from this season's second half) is quite good. But as others have said, they have written the book on how not to handle promotion to the top division.

Their players? Well I'm not sure I'd want Mitrovic, too similar to Andone and he'll have suitors prepared to pay a lot higher wages than we will. Sessegnon is off the table for us, Cairney is quality in the Championship but hasn't pulled up any trees at this level and the rest have been gubbins.

As for the final place, we could go down but it will take an extraordinary sequence of results really. We'd have to lose at home AND Cardiff would need to win 2 or 3 of their other six pointers.

That said, I'd feel a lot more confident about our safety if Cardiff had some Latin manager installed as opposed to an angry, dour, officiating-hypocrite like Colin Wanker who has absolutely owned us down the years unfortunately. If anyone can keep them up, he can, and we have been rubbish for months now with results over PaLLace, Huddersfield and Millwall papering over the alarming cracks that are apparent to us all.

Let’s hope we’re first in the queue for the player fire sale at Craven Cottage.

Sessegnon & Mitro for me.

100% with you on that

Mitro and Cairney.

Sessegnon can’t defend and Spuds are obsessed with signing him.

Wow. You highlight Sessegnon's 'defending', and then suggest we sign Cairney. Luxury player.
Mitro, definitely, if we can get him. Despite Fulham's woeful performances, team structure and defending in the PL, whenever I've seen him, I've been impressed with Chambers. Ticks lots of boxes: rival for Stephens' role; HGP; versatile, can play CB, RB as well as DCM; good age, experience

This, Micky Adams mk 1 basically bought a load of players who had been promoted from the 4th division before, result promotion from the 4th division. Cannot see any reason why purchasing a bunch of serial failures is a good idea.

Calum Chambers for example already has two relegations on his CV. Mitrovic does too.

Five, I think you'll find. Is there a worse icon that could be used to follow that comment?

On a positive note Wolves have supplied 42% of Huddersfields points this season

Cardiff have just 2 home games left - Liverpool and Palace. Can quite easily see zero points there.
They travel to Man City, Burnley, BHA, Fulham and Man Utd.

I don't see it. They'll get nothing out of at least 3 of those games, and that'll leave them with too much to make up in the other 4. Their GD is shot as well, which is effectively another point.

If we beat them at the Amex, then their goose is cooked. A draw will in all likelihood see us stay north of them.

A stunning contribution to this thread, and the only thing i can add or amend to it, is to offer that you think of this not as a point, but half a point.

Then we are going down. No way will we get more points than Burnley, if you presume we lose to Cardiff, which is the only realistic way they are overtaking us from here.
