So assuming Scheletto and Hemed loans to QPR and A.nother Champ club are go. Then is this the named 24 man squad. How do we get to 25 ?

1. Ryan
2. Button ( HGP )
3. Steele ( HGP )
4. Bruno
5. Montoya
6. Bernardo
7. Bong
8. Suttner
9. Balogun
10. Dunk ( HGP )
11. Duffy ( HGP )
12. Barclay (HGP)
13. Stephens ( HGP )
14. Kayal
15. Bissouma
16. Pröpper
17. Groß
18. Jahanbakhsh
19. Knockaert
20. Izquierdo
21. March ( HGP )
22. Murray ( HGP )
23. Andone
24. Locadia
Mathias Normann and the injured Ahannach are over 21. They would have to be shipped out in order for a free agent to be brought in.

Realistically there is only 1 club in the world which would take Ahannach while 'he recovers' - Union SG.

We don't have many moves available.

Assuming you consider Richie Towell will be off on loan too I imagine it would be Mathias Normann.

Soufyan Ahannach could be registered but as he has a broken leg so it would be pretty pointless.

FWIW (probably nothing) El Galgo was running an 'ask me a question' session on his instagram account yesterday.

He answered the question 'Are you staying at Brighton?' with a picture of him in Albion kit, superimposed with a single big blue heart.

Seems likely he will play in the cup vs Southampton on Tuesday. ???

Schelotto isn't staying.

Two Premier League teams came in for him during the summer (both from London). They offered a ton of money (wages), but the club said that he wasn't for sale.

That was then offset with the purchase of Montoya.

He's currently looking at moves to Spain, although the loan thing might happen still.

Excuse my ignorance, but I have wondered what other adult players do? And those who never make the match squad?

At one time the reserves covered all of these but now it is a young Development Squad.

Do they just train and go home? That would be demoralising.........

Players U21 -> Dev squad, don't need to be nominated in 25 man squad to play 1st team.

Players aged 22 or 23 -> Dev squad, have to be nominated in 25 man squad to play 1st team.

Players aged over 23 -> Can play as 'over age' players in Dev squad, but there is a max number allowed in the team. Have to be nominated in 25 man squad to play 1st team.

It certainly isn't conclusive proof that Ben Barclay has been included in the Albion PL squad list (I won't call it the 25-man squad, as it may not be 25 strong), but Barclay is listed on the website in the "First Team" section; the two other development squad oldies (Normann and Ahannach) are still listed in the "U23 Team" section.

I guess we will find out on.....Saturday? Not sure exactly when the Premier League will publish the lists.

Barclay is quoted in the Argus as saying he nearly made the bench against Liverpool, he certainly travelled with the squad, so it does look like he’s in the 25 as it stands.

My guess is he'll be nominated in the squad, as I don't think there is any downside to doing so, and it'd be a great boost for him.

So it could well be a 24 man squad, unless there is an unlikely seeming way back for Schelotto.

It's not definitive, but I suspect it's one of the more knowledgeable posts on NSC

(Damning with faint praise )

So, a squad of 24 then. Granted he is a long way down the pecking order, but what is the point of not naming Schelotto as the 25th? The club is still presumably paying his wages, so what is actually gained by not including him in the squad?
