You may notice if you click on any external link on NSC now, it initially goes to some funny URL before redirecting you to your intended destination.

Do not fear, my Albion brethren, nothing dodgy is happening.

I've subscribed to an affiliate programme called Skimlinks that auto-affiliates any links it can, thus earning NSC affiliate income from places where we might otherwise miss out. As such Skimlinks cleverly intercepts all external clicks, sees if it can affiliate them before taking the user where they want to be. This saves me the hassle of subscribing to numerous affiliate programmes and then ensuring you all affiliate your links, or me being quick to affiliate them for you. Skimlinks takes a cut of any income for providing the service.

Skimlinks is also clever enough to 'respect' links that already contain an affiliate component and not try to steal any of that particular action. As such - if you post, link to, or have affiliated links in your signature I'll get mighty cross as, simply, you might be stealing from NSC. This month's hosting bill has topped $550 so I'm still looking to maximise NSC's revenue to keep us in the black.

As you were chaps.

I see what you mean...

Yep, I've been asked if I would be interested in managing the shop at the Amex. The contract hasn't been signed yet though, the last I heard Ladbrokes were in "pole position" but Coral were also interested because they are the official betting partner of the football league. Ladbrokes have shops in the Emirates and St Marys, amongst others, so have the experience of doing it, but there aren't any guarantees yet.

Edit: Oh, it doesn't work on quotes.

No, that is unrelated.

When you post a raw URL into NSC, the board parses that URL to return the page title and then displays that in your post. It does this so that it gives those who might click on your link more information about where the click will take them. For some reason, and who knows why, your destination site was returning that text as the page title.
