I am going to the Yeovil game with 4 mates from London, we are planning on going out after the game and also staying in Brighton. Would anyone be able be to recommend a) somewhere to stay and b) some clubs that would be worth going to.
In terms of hotels as we will be out on the booze and...
A mate at work, who is a Chelsea season ticket holder, sent me an email today saying that Chelsea would be our first friendly at the Amex. Not sure of his source, but he seemed pretty convinced and it would be a pretty dull rumour to make up.
Could someone please tell me the facts of the Leon Knight saga?
I have been trawling throught the threads and there is so much shit on them, that it is really difficult to work out what is going on.
My two questions:
1) Is it really Leon Knight
2) If the answer to 1 is yes, what facts are...
I played in a corporate 6 a side football tournment in London last night with work. It was organised in the name of Spurs and was run by a couple of guys that do some admin work for Spurs and also coach some of the youth team. I got talking with one of them afterwards and when I told him I was...
It makes sense.
However there is one huge hole in the argument. If they had been planning to give him the bullet since January why did they let him decide the future of the out of contract players and offer others like Adam El-Bad a contract. Before sacking him?
Football is different though. I would imagine 99% of Footballers want to play football and not sit and rot in the reserves. So yes I think some players would take a 50% pay cut just to play.
But surely it is a case of stay put and take the salary, or move to somewhere you would rather be / actually getting a game, and taking a hit on wages.
It strikes me as having your cake and eating it.
I have just been having a discussion with a friend.
They reckon that if a player who is in contract is sold by their club, to another without them requesting a transfer and the club they are transferred to pays them less money. Their old club must pay the difference in salary for the remainder...
Valur Gislason & Michael Mohoney-Johnson.
And pretty much anyone who signed on loan whilst at Gillingham that I luckily have managed to put out of my memory.
I think Wilkins has been treated very badly.
However I am pleased to see him go, think we finished 1 place outside the play-offs this season despite him not because of him.
Lets hope the Westlife-shaped spot on Leeds' bench is the fat one that is going out with Delta Goodrem as then they wouldn't be able to fit any other subs on it.
I don’t post very often but I can’t let this go. Uncle Spielberg you occasionally make some insightful and intelligent posts but in the main you talk a load of drivel, this thread however takes the biscuit!
Saying that you can’t recall seeing many worse challenges is absolutely ridiculous, I...
Whilst I admit the Benjani deal sounds dodgy, can't see the issue with the Defoe deal.
Defoe signed on loan for Portsmouth and now they have agreed to sign him. I imagine at the end of his loan period. In much the same way Nathan Tyson joined Nottingham Forest, he signed from Wycombe outside...
