Modern life is absolutely grim, unless you have wealth - not even 'normal wealthy' anymore, but vast unimaginable wealth, to most of us.
Capitalism has become absolutely masterful and absolutely relentless.
Kids aspire to be capitalist superstars these days, or 'influencers'. Their greatest...
“The real problem of humanity is the following: We have Paleolithic emotions, medieval institutions and godlike technology. And it is terrifically dangerous, and it is now approaching a point of crisis overall.”
― Edward O. Wilson
The rules are pretty clear. This was an example of a tactical yellow card. The goalkeeper had a choice to make - probably concede a goal, or receive a yellow card. It's a bit of a no-brainer if you think of it like that, and you'd like to think our keepers would do the same in that scenario...
Well that's the exactly issue that AI will create. Mass unemployment, as a majority of essential jobs become automated by AI and robotics.
Hopefully humanity and our politics can embrace it - letting us all live free lives without work, allowing us to venture whatever we choose to. That's...
It is the most incredible leap in technological evolution of all time. It will change everything, as humans will become effectively obsolete.
We have created something that can use all human knowledge and refer to it almost impeccably in an instant, and use it to create new logic and ideas to...
Quality player. Quite far down the pecking order if he wants regular football here. Wouldn't be surprised if he does want to go and/or we are looking to sell.
Would wish him the best wherever he goes. Always done his best. Nice chap. Good player.
It seems like pitbulls are a man-made monster purposely bred to kill and have an insatiable desire to do so. It seems like it's only a matter of time before the animal gives in to the urge to maim a child, a pet or even an adult.
What should be done with them?
4 points between 3rd and 13th.
The race for Europe is very, very hot this season - and we're in prime position.
Expect it'll open up and some teams will drop out of contention as the season progresses... but what a fantastic start we've had, with our rivals faltering.
Your post is all very fair - but the discussion was about how far we are from being a top 4 side now, I was merely pointing out that Verbruggen is some distance away from being a top 4 standard keeper, using top 4 keepers as examples.
I highly rate him, I think he'll continue his development to...
I didn't forget Bart... jury is still out on him for me.
He's clearly a GOOD keeper. A very good shot stopper and his distribution is good and improving... but he's still some distance from being at the level of other top 4 keepers such as Alisson, Ederson and Raya.
...but he has time on his side.
Dunk is an absolute Brighton & Hove Albion legend, so I daren't criticise him. He still performs week in, week out and is a true leader and captain of this squad.
HOWEVER...
He is not a top 4 quality centre half. I would confidently say that van Hecke has developed into our best centre half...
I think if all players were fit then our strongest XI is top 4 quality, with a quality bench too.
Problem is we will lose key players from time to time, and a lot of our team is still in developmental stage and/or adapting to the Premier League.
We have four players who are currently top class...
Even better than the Darren Freeman hat-trick in the first game back home, to see us win 6-0?
Stating "thread over" before any discussion has taken place is poor form, particularly when your suggestion is quite wank 😅
He might not be firing in front of goal in recent times, but he sure is involved in almost ALL our goals, all of the time.
Isn't the kind of player that needs the limelight, super unselfish in his play, and crucial to our current standing.
What a debut. Looked quality even despite the goal - but what composure for the winning finish. Can you imagine spending months on the sideline , then going on to make your debut and having the chance to beat City... and you remain cool to only f***ing put away the winner.
Going to be a real...
