I disagree. There must be hundreds, if not thousands, of businesses sitting on expensive land/property turning modest profits. Dockerils is a local example. Farming is no different in this sense.

Very sad news. As well as a great politician and a friend of the Albion I always found him a charismatic and entertaining man…one thing I liked is he often used sarcasm to great effect in speeches and interviews.

I know I keep going on about limited companies but surely you can hand over the controlling interest of a limited and then engage as an employee? You’d need to ensure/demonstrate you’re not a disguised boss but this is surely possible?
Quite. There also seems to be a bunch of options regarding partnerships and/or LTD companies as well. This seems fair and puts them on an equal footing with every other sole trader, partner or Ltd.
