"Russian short stories from Pushkin to Buida" edited by Robert Chandler for Penguin classics, utterly brilliant collection of short stories by all the Russian "big hitter" authors, thoroughly recommend it, a great introduction to Russian literature, one of my all time favourite books.
I definitely agree, I have had some cracking wine from Alsace...very much under the radar, heading out there later this month and will be sampling and stock
Quaffing a bottle of French fizz tonight...a Crémant D'Alsace for starters and then moving on to a fine Madeira as an early warm up for the coming festive season...have a safe and happy Fridat you lovely N.S.C.ers..
Get rid of that stupid f***ing police/security monstrosity above the North Stand and build another tier across to make more capacity and hopefully more noise in the North Stand....oh and Worcester sauce flavoured crisps..
I was born and bred in Worthing, my Dad and brother, being Southerners, naturally supported Man.Utd. but I was rescued at a young age by my uncle who gave me a Brighton and Hove Albion "the dolphins" badge, I was fascinated each time we drove past the Goldstone ground and eventually pester power...
Starting off with a bottle of Freixenet sparkling to get the throat nicely lubricated for something more serious as the evening goes on...have a safe and happy Fridat you lovely N.S.C.ers!!
"Silent Village - Life and Death in occupied France" by Robert Pike, it's both a fascinating and horrifying account of the massacre the Nazis committed in the village of Oradour-sur-Glane, very readable despite the darkness of the subject matter.
