Obviously. My point is that some people blame absolutely everything negative on Brexit while ignoring other factors (like potential worldwide fuel price rises) so whatever harm Labour might do some people will find them blameless.
I did come from Hailsham originally so I moved back. Hopefully that makes me still a local! Not sure where the locals will move out to though! Hungary is my choice but the language is a tough nut to crack!
I don't think they can fail in the eyes of some on here. Everything negative that happens will be because of Brexit not Labour policies. There could be a worldwide fuel crisis pushing petrol & diesel up to £3 a litre but still it will be Brexit. Or another lockdown due to a pandemic costing the...
James O'Brien would be my choice. The only person I can think of more likely than Lineker to get me to go to bed early on a Saturday night instead of watching MOTD. Actually voted for Laura Woods who would have the opposite effect!
Maybe its having served my country for all my working life. If you're prepared to risk your life for something you passionately believe in then just maybe you think we should not be subservient to the EU. Call me a "flag sh*gger" etc all you like. I love my country and the flag I serve under...
Really? How kind of you to make up my mind for me. We were talking about this in the pub a couple of weeks ago. Not one person had changed their mind. All voted leave & all would do again. Then again I drink pints of lager in pubs & not skinny latte's in Starbucks. I guess its the circles you...
It was perfectly clear I was referring to road tax and fuel duty. The bus cap was a separate point. Obviously not a tax. If this Government are on the side of working people you would think they would find the money to extend it though. There was plenty of money for them to throw about...
A rise in the Bus price cap is almost exclusively going to affect the working class. As someone who uses a bus regularly this is a kick in the teeth. I guess their champagne socialist voter base don't use buses much though.
Its fair if fuel duty and road tax are scrapped or reduced considerably...
What is hardly surprising is that a Labour Government are hiking taxes even higher. When they are probably booted out in 5 years time I'm sure the next Government will blame them for overspending so they need to raise taxes and the cycle will go on and on.
Couldn't agree more. Heck of a man and heck of a Soldier is a fitting tribute. Had the pleasure of meeting him and shaking his hand a couple of years ago. Absolute privilege to meet him in person after serving under him for many years. RIP Sir.
Might be useful if there was a "Not yet" option. I'd like to buy an Electric Car but the sensible option seems to be to wait 10 years until they have a better range and come down in price a bit.
Agreed but not at all surprised. We are in a truly dreadful situation that the last lot were so bad that the only real alternative was the shambles we have now got.
Next time one of the kids demands £100 a week pocket money I'll just cough up and feel I've done a good job as its stopped them sulking. Wont ask them to do any extra chores in return though. If I struggle with paying the bills later I'll chuck it on the credit card. That's just common sense yeah?
All 3 benefitted from signing for a club that has supporters who don't expect their team to win the league or qualify for the Champions League. They can develop and make the odd mistake without being totally crucified by entitled supporters who think their team has a god given right to win every...
I've often wondered if a couple of posters on here are actually paid political activists as they seem to spend all day on here every day posting huge essays expressing their views. So limit the length of posts and also the number of times people can post per day maybe.
That's a fair point. I worded that badly. I can only speak for the people I know. However all my family are right of centre, I live in a town that always votes Conservative (even this time!), the majority of my friends are right of centre and almost everyone I work with is right of centre (Army)...
I don't think its the press that this refers to. Besides the fact that hardly anyone reads a newspaper these days I think there is little doubt what the political views of a newspaper are before you CHOOSE to buy it. Similarly I CHOOSE whether or not to watch Channel 4 or GB News knowing their...
England have been simply dreadful. Hard to get up much enthusiasm for the borefest football they've produced so far. Never felt so disinterested as I have this tournament. However a few pints of Camden Hells & a victory tonight & i'm sure I'll change my tune like a typical football fan!
Just read the last couple of comments on here. I refer back to my light hearted post from earlier. As soon as someone posts an alternative view to the usual left wing thinking the word "nazi" is banded about. Not a direct accusation of being a nazi this time but the use of the word in any...
