Pre-match opera? Great idea. Said no one ever.

I'd love a marching band like we used to have at The Goldstone.

    Vehicle insurance is a con

Thanks for that, it's a good explanation. I sincerely hope I can stay in the TRCP bracket from now on.

    Vehicle insurance is a con

I wanted to see if they had any justification for the 40% hike. Naturally, they didn't. What get's me here is why isn't the regulator stepping in to outlaw this sharp practice? As Edna points out, there must be thousands of 'vulnerable' people out there being ripped off. The energy companies...

    Vehicle insurance is a con

57 years old. Been biking for 40 years, 100% no claims, no convictions and no changes to my policy or bike yet the b*stards wanted to charge me 40% more for my premium than I paid last year. I phone up, complain, and then they discount it back to what I paid last year. What a f*cking con.

It's not often I agree with a Tory.......

I will be very surprised if the Tories promise an £8 minimum wage, Labour did at their conference. In any case, you surely can't be criticising Labour for introducing working tax credits etc. the Tories, if they get in next year will set about further dismantling of the welfare system, oh, and...

Poor old Oscar. I wish him well for the future whatever that might be for him now.

It's not often I agree with a Tory.......

The Daily Mail readers on here won't like to hear the uncomfortable truth which is that most of the people in the UK receiving benefit are actually working people who cannot get by on the awful wages they are paid. Another four years of Tory rule and things will get even worse.

    iPhone 6 / iPhone 6 Plus / Apple Watch

Had my 6 for a week now. I've had all the iPhones and this is easily the best yet. Looks gorgeous, feels great, screen is wonderful, predictive text excellent, battery life best yet. It's so good that my iPad has been neglected even when watching live football or reading my book on kindle. Not...

I'm sorry to hear that Hamilton. I guess I'm lucky as I don't have fixed hours and can pick and choose which train I catch.

    In Praise Of Commuting

I'm rather relieved to read this, I thought I was alone in enjoying this time twixt work and home. Like you, I find planning the journey right to avoid the worst trains/commuters/tourists etc one of the secrets to stress-free commuting. I also tend to work from home more during the school...

Cuckfield to HH on the motorbike, HH to Elephant and Castle (the south london stroller), bus to my office on the Clapham road near the Oval. Very pleasant journey, a rare opportunity for some 'me time', read a book, watch a film, have a nap, do some work if necessary. Always get a seat, won't...
