Absolutely thrilled for Pascal.
I wonder where they might play him? Always hard to know where some of our players are best utilised outside of the Albion system.
Very similarly on the surface, probably. Feel like this sort of detail is where us mere mortals struggle to grasp some of the more subtle nuances of a playing philosophy (when compared to elite football coaches).
If the club had a plan for how we were going to get £110m (!) for him, you can be pretty sure they have a plan for how we’ll attempt to plug a Moises size gap in midfield, be it a combination of internal solutions or an incoming replacement.
I just can’t be sure it’ll be in place by 3pm tomorrow..
Stringing along Chelsea fans all summer on this one and then BAM, he’s off to Liverpool for about £30m more than they all thought it would take. Hilarious stuff.
Sarmiento on the bench for WBA, while Rushworth starts for Swansea.
Guessing Jeremy’s being eased back in? Must be ages since his last competitive game.
I’m sure it’s been noted in various threads but wanted to call out the fairly clear strategy from the club to bring in players who are used to playing in European competition, this summer:
Milner
Dahoud
Verbruggen
Igor
Adingra (if you count returning loanees)
All have very recent, and in some...
All just feels a bit weird/wrong without Dunky’s towering presence at the back, doesn’t it?
Conversely, it is encouraging to see us still dominating possession and orchestrating play from the back in our usual manner (for the most part) in his absence.
Are they not likely to be after some slightly more established players to plug the gap left by those two? I know we rate Jeremy very highly but it’s all pure potential at the moment.
If our intention is for him to get 35+ games next season, a Coventry or any club with slightly lower...
Jacobs (and no doubt Romano soon) were always going to resort to this at some point, regardless of how much truth there is behind it. Can’t be proven/disproven, helps drive forward the narrative that the player is unhappy and wants out.
