….and less than a week later!!!!
Labour have defused a row with unions over workers’ rights by agreeing to reword campaign pledges to counter accusations of caving in to business pressure.
At a meeting with union bosses on Tuesday, Sir Keir Starmer insisted he was not watering down employment...
What you said was:
The 4 main reasons ARE as follows- as if it’s definitive, your word is law?
The 4 reasons you gave, I had already given myself as one of the things I considered to be a cause .. lumped together as :
The Government’s change of policy etc… (so yet again we agree on something...
I didn’t mean you were after timing WZ that’s me not explaining myself
I meant Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc - after the event, therefore because of it meaning that you assume because something happened first it’s responsible for what came after …and nothing else affected the result at all...
But as with everything you post, you have your own agenda, so I take your whole “these are the reasons full stop” with a pinch of salt!
Your logic is always “after the event therefore because of it.”
I remember Macron’s sound bite when he proposed the 2018 treaty… the current situation is...
I think there’s a case for the extreme increase in Harry’s graphs being down to
firstly: The Government’s change in policy regarding seeking asylum from outside the UK
secondly : The attitude of the French after The Government refused to foot the bill in 2018
thirdly: It’s a natural...
Quite the opposite really … you yourself a few moments ago were harking back to 2018?? By the way , what was the proposed extra cost to the UK that Macron wanted back in 2018 … you forgot to mention
In this instance- regarding immigration between France and UK , I believe personalities are of no significance whatsoever and also political competence is of little importance. I simply cannot see any situation where Macron enters into any agreement that benefits the UK.
All politics is local...
You cannot possibly believe that to be true??
The UK changes government and the French work with us to prevent refugees leaving France for the UK?
Will not happen

Trouble at mill…?
According to today’s Guardian Union leaders not happy with new Labour document which waters down aspects of Raynor’s worker’s rights proposals. Weak language on fire and rehire…. Loophole provided for zero hours contracts….. right to switch off now to be ‘best practice’
Starmer is right to let her cross the floor but the party won’t let her stand at the next election I imagine? There is a 12 month minimum party membership requirement.
I’ve been thinking about this since the thread went up and I find it hard to mail it down to one but by nearly every method of scoring it then the Villa keeper comes out on top almost every time, ahead of Anthony, ZAHA, and Bruno Fernandez but the one incident that stands out above all else for...
To be honest Harry, whilst (like you) I welcome any attempt to solve this issue in a humane and organised manner, I can’t believe for one minute that there are any ‘return agreements’ to be struck with any countries at all. I wonder if there are any such agreements anywhere already in place? I...
How’s this for succinct from Labour:
Labour has said it will admit small boat migrants into the asylum system as the party vowed to overturn the government’s hardline asylum ban.
The party said it would consider the asylum claims of all those who have entered the UK illegally since March last...
It seems the business lobby has had some influence over The Deputy Leader’s worker’s review
This in today’s Guardian:
Keir Starmer’s party is preparing to announce details of its promise to overhaul workers’ rights if it gets into power – a centrepiece of its early plans for government, but...
