I firmly believe that in more experienced managerial hands from the start of the season, this squad would be at least 8 points better off and we wouldn't be having this constant examination of internal club affairs. Most fans ( apart from the seriously deluded ) would have settled for somewhere...
A tiresome tool he may be but in the eyes of the Talksport management he must be doing something right, to survive numerous cuts/culls and still be there over ten years later.
If we are going off at a tangent, I read once that there is a crossroads in Reading where a ' road ' a ' street ' an ' avenue ' and a ' lane ' all meet. ( The only instance in England )
Personally, I think he has five games left. In effect, to the year end ( Fulham away 29/12 ). We then have a mini break ( FAC3 ) until we play Charlton on 10/01. Ideal time to effect a change.
Unless of course we suddenly pick up enough points for a re-think ( would suggest it would need to be...
I think the three that stand out are Hinshelwood, Adams Mk2 and Hyypia.
1) Hinshelwood. As previously stated, DK fannied about and ignored candidates like Coppell ( who would have kept us up given a full season ) and appointed Hinsh late. He had a promising start, four points from the first two...
Most strikers have hot spells followed by leaner periods. Look back through the record books. I think Greaves went 10 England games without scoring but still ended up with 44 in 57games. Same with Lineker. Same with plenty of others. I know Ulloa isn't in that class but he also had lean spells...
Do we play better away? Or is the expectation level different? i.e Do we expect more at home and are therefore more disappointed?
Home...10 games...11pts
Away......9 games.....7pts
There may have been some decent performances away but they are not reflected in the results ( and we couldn't have...
Nails in the coffin.....
1) The man admitted that he wasn't a leader on the pitch when he played. He said he let others do the shouting and organising and let his own play do the talking. Fine, when you are being managed and others can take responsibility but you have to gain respect as a...
Politicians are career civil servants and they will do whatever it takes to remain in their jobs. It doesn't matter if they disagree with the party line...they just swallow their convictions, keep quiet, keep their heads down and carry on. The outspoken ones usually remain festering on the back...
....but not whiter than white!
( Oblique reference to the Swiss being the safe haven for every bit of ill-gotten gain or dirty money since anyone can remember. )
They can stick their neutrality up their furtive, conniving and corrupt arses.
I do believe that you fight cancer mentally as well as physically. Don't ever give up. I'm fighting my own battle at the moment and although its difficult at times, the other scenario doesn't appeal.
Love hearing stories like Wilko's...good on him.
