[Football] Tips for Wet Spam away

Howling Hops. Beer straight from the tank. Loads of styles. As others have said, Crate and Old Street Brewery are also superb.

    [Albion] Wolves away 5th Nov.

Just get a Super Off-Peak Return to Birmingham Moor Street. Should be valid on any train from Marylebone.

    [Albion] Wolves away 5th Nov.

Look at returns to Birmingham from either Euston or Marylebone (really cheap at the moment), then Brum to Wolverhampton is about £4

[Albion] Pervis Estupiñán - SIGNED - 5 YEAR CONTRACT

I live about five miles from Biggin Hill and have the planes flying right over my house as they come in to land. Working from home today and a plane has just flown over...

[Misc] That "I just knew..." feeling/ESP

I know this isn't relevant to the thread, but Michael Benson is my nephew. When two worlds collide (or just a coincidence).

    [Politics] Levelling Up

It's actually a c10% rise. It's going up 1.25 percentage points. Big difference in how this is often wrongly reported.

[Albion] When you’ve been in the wrong end and had to keep quiet!

Done a couple. Reading away in the top-of the-table game in League Two. Was 0-0, Gary Hart had a late goal ruled out if I recall. So many "hidden" Brighton fans in our area jumped up when we "scored". Also the 6-0 West Ham away game with a Hammers mate. Think it was pretty obvious to those...

    [Football] Penalty taking.

Exactly this. Practising something is no guarantee of success, but it's a way of reducing the chances of failure. It's why golfers practise three-foot putts, snooker players pot the colours off the spots, darts players hit double-top etc etc. Every sport has these. The point is is that when it...

    [Music] Bands/artists with a long-ish career: name a brilliant final/recent album and a honker.

The two most recent albums by Gary Numan, Splinter and Savage (in particular) are absolute stonkers. Both grungey industrial synth with Middle Eastern flavours. Try My Name Is Ruin from Savage as an example.

[Misc] The best beer there is....

Most of the beers from Westerham Brewery are now gluten free, but made using the same ingredients as "normal" beer: https://westerhambrewery.co.uk/westerham-makes-gluten-free-beer/

Main Coronavirus / Covid-19 Discussion Thread

Haha, it's exactly that. I worked from home for a bit last year after a minor operation. Was desperate to get into the office after a couple of weeks.

Main Coronavirus / Covid-19 Discussion Thread

Bit mixed. I actually quite like my team so not having that daily "banter" will be missed. Won't miss the commute, though.

Main Coronavirus / Covid-19 Discussion Thread

Just been told that from tomorrow everyone in our company, based in the City of London, has to work from home for a month. A MONTH!!

[Humour] Endoscopy, sedation or straight down ?

Had a colonoscopy last year. My god, "the purge" for the 48 hours beforehand... :flameboun:flameboun Was sedated for the treatment, but still pretty aware throughout. Not a pleasant experience. However, nothing compared to the apparently rare reaction I got from "the purge", which continued for...

[Albion] Your smallest ever away crowd (that you were part of).

Torquay away on New Year's Day in the Great Escape season. Lost 2-1 and sure there were only about 50 or so away fans there. Was so cold on the open terrace that they moved us into the seats. Also I remember a midweek reserve fixture or LDV/Sherpa Van game at Craven Cottage around that period...

[TV] Hardest Question on Only Connect

Yep, got about 40-odd of the originals knocking about somewhere, including a very early brown cover edition of Warlock. God, I loved them as a kid, especially Deathtrap Dungeon and City of Thieves. That sense of achievement when you got a "turn to 400". The covers were (and still are) stunning...

[TV] Hardest Question on Only Connect

Yep, my wife and I got it on the second clue. Was surprised that VC was making such a fuss about it being so hard. The only Round 2 question I ever got right on the first clue was: 4. Starship Traveller
