I quite agree that there is some abuse that crosses the line, however, players have to expect banter and abuse from opposing fans, that's part of the rivalry of football in the same way as the banter and abuse between rival fans, I have to pay good money for the privilige of having opposing fans...
I'll be there for the first time this season and will be taking a work colleague who's never been to Withdean before. Would we be attending at full price? Probably not.

I went to the play off final with a friend of my sisters who happened to be a Leeds fan. There was a point as we left the Millenium Stadium when he realised our victory meant mighty Leeds had to play at Withdean the next season, he wasn't a happy bunny!!
