PZ Myers, like Richard Dawkins, has a reputation for being an aggresive, "fundamentalist" atheist (whatever that means), but as you say is actually a thoroughly decent bloke in person. This video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4trHH6AuZ0 appeared from one of his talks recently, where some...

So although you may not respect my hypothetical beliefs personally, if I were to write them down, you'd then respect my children for holding them? And anyone else who read my writings in the future?

It's the bloody black goal nets that annoy me - you can't see them up RIPPLE when the ball hits them up the far end of the pitch... WHITE goal nets please Mr Bloom.

San Francisco will be going to vote on a ban on circumcision for babies......

If there's no medical benefit, then yes it should be banned on babies & children too young to make the call themselves. I just cannot understand any argument otherwise - harming a child because it's traditional/cultural?! Or even just because it "looks better"?! Has to be the individual's call...

Absolutely 100% spot on. If I genuinely believed my toaster was the creator of the universe, and lived my life following the "instructions" that I genuinely believed it was giving me, would you respect that? Or would you get me sectioned? This may seem sarcastic or cynical, but it's a honest...

    The most ridiculous penalty ever!

I expected this to be a video of Elphick's "handball" v Bournemouth for a second. You're right though - top refereeing from that man!

Deloitte Annual Review of Football Finance 2009-10 out today

The top 6 wage bill being needed for promotion says a lot, doesn't it? Don't think we'll be top 6 in wages this year! I like our little mention: "League 1 and League 2 clubs invested £58m in stadia and facilities, a record level and more than twice the amount seen in any previous year, driven...

Given our position when we signed him, I cannot imagine Gus has the view that Noone can't cut it at Championship level. Very much (b) I'd imagine, but also for cover as well as tactical...

    Carling Cup

It's actually surprisingly simple - all the formatting in this one is done just by using the Headers tag. A completely new section is a "level 1" header - i.e. type in: (H="1")Section Title(/H), or in this article (H="1")Format(/H) A sub-section is a "level 2" header - (H="2")Sub-section...

    Carling Cup

The Carling Cup is the current name of the English Football League Cup, or League Cup. Like the FA Cup, it is played on a knockout (single elimination) basis. Unlike the FA Cup where 762 teams entered in 2008–09 only 92 clubs can enter: the twenty clubs of the Premier League, and the 72 clubs...

Is anyone else WORRIED by us splashing cash?

This is what's keeping my feet on the ground about the whole thing too. If our net spend ends up rocketing though, then I must admit I'll start to feel more than a little nervous about it. Would love to know our wage bill too, but that's obviously not going to appear on Wikileaks any time soon...
