In defence of the Basset Hound, I lived in Southampton for 3 years. Occasionally had to walk through an area called Bassett, most unpleasant, definitely lots of hard folk about.
Agreed got to be time for Goldson to be given a go, far better on the ball and if we're not winning in the air... well then what's the point of Duffy?
Funnily enough the game v Watford in which Goldson started over Duffy was the most dominant we have been aerially for a long time.
Have to back the Cassowary this year. The people's champion is obviously nails but you can just tell the Cass wants it more. Look at the glint in that nasty b@stard's eye- he's absolutely gagging to slice up anything that comes anywhere near him.
The Cassowary is what you get when a Velociraptor f*cks an ostrich. Make no mistake he is absolutely hatstand and bang up for it. My pick to go far this year.
Even though Celtic and Rangers are obviously very big clubs I must admit to being stunned and rather bemused about how big of a story this transfer seems to have been. Don't get me wrong I like Jamie Murphy- but a decent Championship standard winger moving from a Premier League club's reserves...
Must admit I am struggling to quite muster the same enthusiasm. When the people's champion finally took what was rightfully his last year, a life dream was achieved for me. I'm not quite sure what is meant to come next.
I'll second the horse.
March is an interesting one really- he's better the less time he has on the ball. When he doesn't have time to think he can slalom past two or three quite effortlessly, incredibly gifted naturally. Problem being as soon as he does have time to think he invariably picks a shocking option, or...
Bit in bold is unfair- refer you back to my previous post:
Obviously I completely agree those who paved the way for progress should be celebrated. What I don't agree with is the idea that white English people now should be afforded praise for managing to sit through a football match without...
Its not about excusing people for being there. The point I was making was that such views cannot be excused now because there are not the same societal pressures to conform to that way of thinking, whereas in times gone by there was clearly a justification of sorts for them.
You've completely...
Older generations may well have had more of an excuse for these views given they were ingrained in society, and ultimately we are all a product of our upbringing. Of course those who helped shift such rhetoric should rightly be commended, there is no doubt about that.
Context is obviously very...
This misses the point I think, people should not be praised for not being racist, that is not an achievement. Emphasis is rightly on those who fail to comply with most basic standards of human decency.
He's doing fine. Obviously he's not going to have the same impact as last year because those sort of stats in this league would make you one of the best in the world. Definitely being hamstrung by the amount of defending we have to do and given he's tending to break forward in splendid isolation...
Its a different kind of noise though isn't it? The roar and sheer volume at Wednesday in the play-offs and indeed from us for the first 20 mins at the Amex in the return leg is far more 'intimidating' for want of a better word. The persistence from Hudds fans is certainly admirable but there's...
I don't get why you seem so set on knocking, it's just awkward. It won't convince anyone who isn't tipping to do so and it certainly might put a few who were off.
Door-knocking a bit brash no? Better off just dropping some 'subtle' cards in with the papers on his next round and seeing what comes back in the next couple of weeks?
As an aside did think back when I was doing this that a nice little earner at Christmas would be to get up before the paper...
It's more based upon what we know of March and Knockaert's character. Obviously complete speculation and may be totally baseless, but I would be surprised if anybody else's initial assumptions differed... Hopefully the info is wrong.
