I'm no fan of VAR, never have been. But if you're suggesting VAR is being used / manipulated to satisfy the Asian betting markets, then I'm afraid I'll have to call "Bobbins". Its not corruption. Its just plain old-fashioned rank incompetence.
To suggest the dribbling line-drawing goons at...
Barney Ronay is one of my favourite journalists. Sometimes his similes can get a little laboured, but I do enjoy his off-piste slants when I read his match reports, or one of his pieces.
His book on the World Cup in Russia when he follows England around (amongst other games) is a really...
Maddison was sent off at the Amex a couple of years ago in the first half, when he picked up a 2nd yellow card for diving in the box. It was a truly delicious moment.
Great player, but he's got it in him.
Fantastic lightshow in BN41, and the serious rain has arrived.
I just love that smell, and the sound. I took great delight in explaining to my grandson how thunder is caused (and no, it wasn't the twee "clouds bumping together").
Its a good point. Both times v the horsepunching handchoppers he was desperate to cut back onto his right, leading to a blocked shot and a chance gone. Yet today, he stroked it home on his left into the far corner like he was opening a tin of peaches.
Maybe he's been PRACTICING
I totally agree re the tech. Goal-line technology has been a gamechanger for the good (although Sheff Utd fans may not agree, but that really was a one-off aberration). For line calls in football, cricket and tennis, its excellent.
But football doesn't very often boil down to line calls. Its...
It did indeed. But it could easily have gone the other way - heads dropping, "not our day" syndrome. Thankfully LCFC were so inept, and rather than getting spurred on by their fortunate escape, they still caved. Thats more down to us than them, but no thanks to the pricks in charge of the game...
"Brighton were tremendous today and I was sort of glad Macallister scored that free kick because the decision to overrule his first goal was an absolute farce"

Are you not losing sight of what (ultimately) the offside law is all about ? It was brought in to prevent goalhanging. It was brought in to stop an attacker gaining an unfair advantage through being behind the last defender when the ball is played forward.
Did Mwepu achieve any of that before...
Sorry, I just cannot be having it.
If a manager still has an "appeal" in his pocket, then you might as well give up celebrating a late or last minute goal. As we've seen today, the eager-beavers at Stockley Park are DESPERATELY searching for the slightest reason to chalk off a goal, its...
Unlike cricket and tennis, goals are a match-defining rarity. Its not just an individual wicket or point - its a GOAL. You might not even see one all afternoon.
Literally EVERY goal would be challenged on the offchance of some old bollocks. Foul throw. Some tap on the ankle. A dirty look. Give...
A result (of sorts). I'm yomping back from the MUFF on Sunday with the doris and a couple of chums post air-show. I could have been selfish, insisting we all leave early so I have half a chance of making the 2pm KO. As it stands, I'll be more amenable to a leisurely exit involving a decent...
The parents need to be held ultimately accountable. If you have brought up a child who thinks that repeatably booting someone else in the head in is in any way normal or acceptable, then that needs direct intervention with corrective measures on the child and parent.
Its absolutely mindboggling...
Those kids ARE behaving like feral scum though. Unprovoked, unwarranted, pointless blind violence. I would be utterly mortified and ashamed beyond belief if one of my children had ever behaved like this. I don't think I'd ever get over it.
Once identified, it should lead to the prosecution of...
