I've just had a quick Google look and at the start of the season there were 22 British managers in charge at championship clubs. Garcia and Zola being the only exceptions. That's changed now obviously but it is quite interesting when you compare it to the Prem.
That's a good stat, I hadn't thought of it like that before.
Just for arguments sake though, how many of the promoted managers have been in this league for a good few years? Is it all about experience or can a manager cone in and get you promoted after 1-2 years in charge?
Depends if fans want to get promotion or not. Obviously it would be better to play good football and go up that way but recent history says (and looks likely to be repeated again this year) that you need the Pearson, Dyche etc type managers if you want promotion.
Everyone said what a clown...
Personally, I'd give him until Xmas next year and then see where we are
However, I also think that to get out of this league you need a British manager who has been around the block and knows this division. Look at all the team's to get promoted recently and with the exception if Swansea (and...
I didn't say that. I am very thankful for yours (and every) donation I get.
I was merely pointing out that every year you spend so much time moaning about everything to do with it and you needn't worry this year.
It's 2 days under a month. The squad will be announced in due course but seeing as you are such a huge supporter of the game and always give the team your undying support I'll give you a sneak preview... You're not involved.
You can relax and not have to worry about sponsorship now.
All he said was "Macca's back!" Or something similar. It just means he has traveled. They always take more than they can use to away games and the team are also staying up there for Tuesday so I'd imagine quite a few have traveled up there.
Just plead ignorance. It'll be too early for them to care on the way up, assuming the barriers are in place, and they won't want to argue with a load of drunk football fans on the way home.
Where would you like to see it advertised? It was mentioned on here and from that alone there were more people replying that can play on the day. It would be great to get as many people involved as possible but unfortunatly that just isn't possible.
Cant argue with that. He must have covered every inch of the pitch that night. It is a shame that he made some mistakes when he was younger as he would be a great example for youngsters on how to work for your team mates and put a shift in.
I also really enjoyed listening to him last night, he...
Whoa, calm down fella. I didn't mean it in an insulating way. If you read the rest of the thread you'll see the general opinion of the place is a good one.
I like the old stand, it would be a shame to knock it down.
I certainly don't think I am in anyway superior because I come from Brighton...
I'm pretty sure that it's Barnsley where the kitman has been employed by the club for something like 70 odd years. Firstly as a player and then coach, groundsman, odd-job man and now the kitman.
I like things like that in professional Football.
