Sami said from day 1 that he wanted someone with experiance of being a No2 who would tell him when he was making mistakes and when things needed changing.
I'm not saying that Jones isn't up to the job, but maybe inexperiance from the pair of them has a lot to do with our current situation.
I wouldn't be shocked to see Walton go out on loan for the rest of the season in January. I think 6 months at a League 1/2 club would do him wonders. Not quite ready to be our number 1 just yet but it isn't that far away if he keeps progressing as he seems to be currently.
Stockdale back in...
He has always been best coming off the bench rather than starting. When he is fresh and defenders are tired, that is when he wins his most fouls and puts the most crosses in. He is also unable to run more than 10-15 yards with the ball before stopping, checking back and then letting the defence...
They are going about it all wrong. If Dunk had really wanted to clear the stand he would have aimed for the corners, not the middle of the east stand. Poor commitment to the cause from him.
When he is playing as the furthest forward player and there are not often players running past him, which direction do you think he is going to pass the ball?
I don't think its their defensive skills that is the issue. The problem is that they are being asked to push forward (which is fine, as long as you have the required skills as an attacking player) but we aren't covering them well enough. The two games we won we had Bruno in one of the holding...
We had something like that on the way into London a few months ago. Can't remember the station but we were steaming in and all of a sudden the anchors go on and after missing by 2 coaches there is an announcement of "Sorry about that, if you require this station then please procede towards the...
Stockdale is our keeper for all competitions and would have played last night but for injury.
You make a huge assumption on Waltons mental strength there. You are being very unfair on him to suggest that he will not be able to cope with it.
He made a decision and it worked. Can't knock him...
Was it a shocking decision?
Or was it Sami showing him that he has confidence in him to be able to handle a game like that. Also, why do you assume that if Walton had shipped 8 goals and none of them his fault that his confidence would have been shot to pieces?
I guess its just another reason...
Genuine question... If all of our stats and performances had been exactly the same but the goals from the defenders had been scored by the forwards, would the complaints still be the same?
For all of his talent he is twice as much of a handfull off the pitch. It will also take him 2 months to get back to match fitness again and his wages will be stupid.
Apart from that, not a bad shout.
