    Socks and sandals

Fine, if worn by stereotypical lathe operator from the West Midlands, on holiday to the South or South West or Blackpool or Skegness, with wife and two children. The latter need to be paddling in the surf. The former needs to be reclining in a deck chair, studying that day's racing form in the...

Sandals and socks conjures up the image of a scoutmaster and I won't say anymore beyond that.

*Anyone ELSE getting up at 0415 for the CARIBOU Cup DRAW*

Ah but did we? We may have sold 11,000 tkts but I would bet a fair number of those were purchased purely for the points and resulted in no shows.

*Anyone ELSE getting up at 0415 for the CARIBOU Cup DRAW*

Awful, awful draw on all counts. Small ground, small ticket allocation, unlikely to progress. The same people who snapped up tkts for the league game will do likewise again ( + 280 pts ) leaving a lot of people unable to go again, particularly as it won't be televised.

    Player ratings - Barnet (h)

Last season effectively finished at Wolves. That was the last decent performance and we haven't seen one since. We limped nervously over the line v Wigan and then the whole club decided to go on an almighty bender. It was as if they felt...." thats it, we don't have to bother now "....the...

    Jamie Murphy

There is serious debate going on about individual players, as there always has been and there always will be. After two games, it is apparent which players, at present, have appeared to struggle to adapt to a higher level. It is healthy and natural to want to discuss these individuals and to see...

Little bit more than that now required at PL level.

Barnet Football Clubs most famous supporter...

Never mind EB what about the great days of Stan Flashman and Barry Fry. More brown envelopes flying around than in the Post Office. Thats the way to do business. Thrash out your terms first before you even get round to talking about the player. Fat Stan only dealt in cash. He had suitcases full...

    Jamie Murphy

To give the ball away in an offensive position in the opening 30 seconds on Saturday was unforgiveable. He could have played it back to a colleague or even played for a corner ( what a boost that would have given us and rocked Leics back ) Instead, he panicked when confronted with a defender and...

Is Chris hughton unsackable this season !!

Hughton is a reactive manager rather than a pro-active one and we have to accept that. It was pretty clear at half-time on Saturday that we needed to change and couldn't afford to go two down. Predictably, he delayed and sure enough, we went two down. We were never going to pull back a two goal...

    Izquierdo - Don't Raise Expectations

12 points to go to beat Derby's all time record low. We know we are going to lose the last 5 games of the season. Man C, Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton will all take 6 points off us. So will Huddersfield. That leaves 21 games. We know we are going to lose at home to...

    [Albion] Maty Ryan. Discuss.

Not the sole cause. Jamie Murphy was on the edge of their box, with colleagues waiting for a delivery. He didn't have a clue what to do, so tried a little stab forward, which was easily blocked. Leicester immediately built an attack down the right and Suttner allowed Mahrez to cut in and have a...

FAO NSC Hard Of Thinking: Reminder: The Albion’s Last Three Opponents...

On the evidence of the first two games, pace, physicality and quick thinking play a big part in this division. Its patently obvious that some of our players are currently lacking these attributes. They have become used to more time on the ball and are now struggling to readjust. The speed at...

    [Albion] Maty Ryan. Discuss.

That is the problem. Dunk and Duffy don't trust him and both realise that they are going to be hugely overworked trying to clear stuff that should be his responsiblity. You just can't visualise Ryan coming through a crowd of players to punch clear or even catch the ball. Opponents are going to '...

    [Albion] Maty Ryan. Discuss.

....and lacks physicality. He tried to come for the corner, leading to the second goal but didn't have the strength to get past players. Teams will quickly exploit his inability to command his box and will punish us. WBA will pile players into the six yard box at every set piece and so will...
