Interestingly, National Rail's website flashes up a warning - about this tunnel closure - when I search for trains London - Littlehampton. Will it significantly affect those trains, other than making them busier?
Obviously only my opinion, but I'm going to steer well clear of that one. It will be absolutely rammed with commuters desperate to get home - and if you don't get on, you don't make the match by that time...
Ernest - thanks for the thread, would have completely missed it otherwise. Luckily I can escape work early and get either the St Leonards or via Littlehampton route, but my big worry is how late they are going to run everything back to London at night.
Will these "after 1600" buses/shuttles be...
Fair enough - allow me to rephrase. Relativity time adjustments weren't made by trial and error - someone didn't sit there with a Sat Nav trying adjustment after adjustment until they were right. The calculations were generated directly from Einstein's theory and then, when tested, they agreed...
Without deliberately sounding like a cop-out... I can't answer that here.
In Brian Cox's "Why Does E=mc2", the answer to why the constant speed through spacetime is c (the speed of light) is a significant chunk of the entire book - plus the equations don't translate well to NSC.
It is there...
Relativity, based on the starting point that the speed of light is the same for all observers (which has been demonstrated) leads inexorably to the conclusion that "speed" through spacetime is constant for everything.
The faster you're going through the space direction, the slower you're going...
I assume you don't trust your SatNav then. If SatNavs didn't make an adjustment to the signals they get from the satellites (to account for the satellites travelling slower through time than we are) then they'd be wrong - and the error would increase by 10 metres a day!
(There's one for the...
Vicente replaces Buckley in the squad, so that's fine. Yes, Painter comes straight back in. I suspect that Navarro will be the other person to miss out as 18 becomes 16.
Hoskins is a tricky one though... can Poyet really drop Barnes?
Not really - that would only apply if staying down this year guaranteed promotion next year, which it obviously doesn't.
Having said that, I'd rather go up this year. Even if we do go up and straight back down, we'll bring the parachute payments with us, giving us an even better chance to...
Quite agree - in theory. The problem is that those in the hi-viz vests keep the queue locked behind a gate unable to get at the train - the train which is still half empty. If they don't even let people on the platform, meaning the train leaves while it still has room to fit another (at least)...
But, given that they already have what they want/have been campaigning for (Commons debate), what is the purpose of singing for them tonight, instead of supporting Brighton & Hove Albion?
I'm pretty sure it's possible, but you have to "upgrade" in advance, in the same way you can't buy a ticket on the gate. Ticket office are the people to speak to
So Kenny says "we need to be professional if we're going to get a result", and that leads to the headline saying he "promises we'll kop it". Dishonesty and laziness... I really hate the Sun...
