I am still trying to establish exactly who took the box from the staff room. the school said it wasn't a member of staff but a member of the public???????????????????? hence I guessed at a helper/teaching assistant/volunteer or who ever helps out at a school.

he has the balls to use that line gingerbeerman.

1. bling? not really, it was a plain black watch that didn't flash nor reflect the light in any way and would not be worn by a rapper. 2. agree. 3. agree.

it was a crimbo present (last one). £80 new, offered £25. that is deducting £9 per month approx. for wear and tear.

thanks goldstone, doesn't seem to mention watches though. I will point this out to them.

fair comment Ninja. initially the school (deputy head I believe) said that they would carry out an investigation into the disappearance of the watches and that the school would look into refunding the cost of the watch, only for the battleaxe to step in and offer £25 without prejudice. hey ho.

thank you all for the advice. I may well put my shorts on, go and do P.E. at his school and take someone else's watch from the box to make up for my son's loss. seriously though, I am going to ring them tomorrow, then, if no joy, I will write to them asking for the full amount.

thanks goldstone, just spoke to the better half as she took the call from the school. the offer was £25 without prejudice (sp?). is that basically saying that here's 25 quid and shut the ffff up as we are not admitting any guilt?

thanks binky, I have got to ring the school tomorrow and speak to the deputy head. I will drop it in the conversation that I will be seeking legal advice. small claims court may well be getting a call/visit.

totally agree Oz. I suppose they do have a point but I have had run ins with his school before as they are sticklers for uniformity. again I don't mind that but my son broke his metatarsal bone in his foot and he has to wear plain black soft leather trainer come shoes which cost us a fortune...

can't stand the head teacher. not a bad idea but that would cost me wouldn't it?
