Glastonbury ... from the comfort of your sofa

Just been watching that Hot Chip set - top notch stuff. As you say, great finale. And I Was A Boy From School was also a triumph.

What things annoy you - even though they shouldn't really?

When you're in Sainsbury's and they play an advert over their loudspeaker system and it ends with that bloke saying "Sainsbury's: live well for less". Can't stand his intonation.

    NSC Easter Bunny CD 2015

I'd have probably had a punt - hard to say after the event who I would have said though. I'm sure you'd have been on the shortlist though - I think eclectic mixes are the way forward for these CDs, like a lucky dip.

Reasons Worthing is a great place to live

It's by the sea and next to the Downs. Can I also mention Italian ice cream parlours and it used to have a Dayville's in the 70s (bit of a theme emerging now)?

Glastonbury ... from the comfort of your sofa

Re Shazza: I'd start with Are We There and work your way backwards, should you wish. Marcos Valle looked a little sparsely attended, but I'm not sure who he was up against. On my radar for Saturday, well, not too much - Courtney Barnett, maybe Sleaford Mods, are The Staves playing, or am I...

    Friday night drinking thread

Really mixing it up here - started with wheat beer, moved onto red, now switched to white (Muscadet). Don't think It'll be rose next though.

Glastonbury ... from the comfort of your sofa

I'm watching a recording of Sharon van Etten, loving Serpents currently. Not a great fan of The Libertines.

Leicester City: Three players sacked following racist sex tape

By ex-Albion player (briefly) Chris Wilder. Who has a track record in fairly controversial bargain signings.

    Jara finger thread

I was hoping for a nice, bracing discussion on Victor Jara, Pinochet, Allende and the US, but, never mind.

    Vicente

Until the sooner of Vicente Rodriguez's 50th birthday and the untimely death of Vicente Rodriguez, I will go into every summer break with an unspoken, but desperate desire to hear the news that we have re-signed Vicente Rodriguez. As each season passes, the dream grows further away, but it never...

[Cricket] The Ashes 2015 ***OFFICIAL SERIES THREAD***

Just seen the Aussies outside their hotel in central Canterbury, looking relaxed, as well they might. I'm hoping for an exciting Ashes. Really hard to call how England will do - should be interesting, hopefully a series of fascinating twists and turns, and not just a drubbing. Looking forward to...

S Why skip Beachy Head? Too depressing? Gene did plenty more, Olympian was probably the best, if that whets your appetite...

Hmmmm. Was never really a big fan of Gene. Bit too precious for me.

Yep, AND drummers only needed ONE drum (shaun_rc)! That must have sounded pretty weedy "live" on the beach during recording! Love that Veronica Falls track - usually give that one a spin on a matchday en route.

BN3, eh? I wonder if they're Hove or West Blatchington. I went to NB's wedding last year (in Southborough). Did you chat? Makes you feel old when a mate is the town mayor! Were Hinds any good? May give them a listen later - can't beat a good Spanish indie band!
