Frankly, I'd rather they stopped keeping the goals in themselves and started letting us see them too.
Yes, we came closest to scoring, but the chance was much harder than two or three of Toon's. That's why I said that their chances were better, and not that they came closer to scoring.
I honestly think they were. Not once did I come close to putting my head in my hands after one of our chances was missed. I only once went "ooooh" - after the last ditch clearance. I would have done had I been a Toon fan with two, maybe three of theirs.
This. Toon’s chances were fewer than ours, but better.
At the moment we’re playing more attractive, more progressive, more expansive football than last year. However, it’s no more effective in terms of goals or points.
It’s a matter of faith, not evidence (Watford aside) as to whether we’ll...
Wright Brothers, next door but two to The only pub in London
My younger daughter and I had a quick lunch here prior to me attending a meeting and her meandering around Tate Modern.
We had a bowl of cockles in brine (very fresh and briny), followed by moules mariniere (plump, really fresh and...
I have a diary note that it's supposed to be today, but I haven't seen anything yet. The PL website says that it was supposed to be early August, which is just plain wrong.
Thanks.
However, it's the other one that I was curious about - the Directors' Guest Lounge it appears to be. It also seems to be "sold out", though there's been nothing publicised about it on the website, or in an email sent to existing 1901ers.
I'd wondered what that reduction in the size of the lounge was all about. I've not seen anything from the club about this new offering - do you know anything about what it is?
There’s no dress code at the RoH. I’ve seen people in there with shorts, their own picnicks (lots of those), lots with bottles of water (with tops), even one wearing colours. The RoH is far more inclusive than 1901.
Little Fish Market, Upper Market St, BN3.
It’s only as I started thinking about the first sentence of this review that I realised the similarities between LFM and Sushi Tetsu: both small (20 covers a night vs 14), both only having one person doing all the cooking, both with a real attention to...
