Just managed to look at it. Agree - it's hard to tell, but it doesn't come over at all well, so unless a Spanish speaker can confirm that Izquierdo's mate is actually applauding the paramedics for their quick response or something similar, this is a deeply depressing thing to see especially in...

This - it's great how some of these 'specialist' threads, like the running one, are entirely positive, celebratory and supportive in tone, and almost never degenerate into name-calling, and childish abuse like some of the other threads always seem to (some of the Albion threads, and almost all...

I hope that's not true, but if it is, I've lost a lot of respect for the guy. [edit] I've just looked and can't see it on his Instagram account, so it's either not true, or he's deleted it (which would also have been sensible)

3:51:33 for me. Happy (very) with that, for my first marathon at age 62, given that I had no real idea what to expect. Loved it for the most part, and although it was hard at the end, it wasn’t as bad as many people had led me to believe. My splits were fairly steady throughout except for the...

Woke up early, feeling nervous- don’t think I’ve felt like this since starting my university finals (in 1977!). Porridge, blueberries and strong tea, to calm things down. Good luck to all NSC runners. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Could you change my 5k SB to 22:40 and my AG to 71.99% when you get a chance? You already did it last week I think, but this version seems to have reverted to a previous set of data. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It’s half time at Selhurst and I’m already worried about the effects on my marathon tomorrow - my legs hurt from jumping up and down, my chest hurts from the combined effects of singing and the flares being let off in the Brighton end, and as for my heart rate ..... Sent from my iPhone using...

Porridge for me - 2.5 to 3 hours before the start. Then nothing but gels and water on the run itself.

[Albion] Ticket Site Meltdown Guaranteed on Tuesday

Try and allocate them a ticket purchase - if they have enough points for that purchase, the site will let you do it. If not, not. The only way to see exactly how many points they have though is to log in as them.

Got onto the site after a five minute wait and bought two tickets for Liverpool. Hardly carnage.

Woken up this morning with a sore throat and streaming nose. Bl**dy typical, that I'm as fit as I've ever been and otherwise in good shape for my first marathon on Sunday. Just praying that it passes well before Sunday, and doesn't move to my chest, which is often what happens when I get a cold.

Yes, well I only started running at age 59, three years ago, and my pre-death window is considerably shorter than yours , so I need to crack on with getting that AG up a bit

Cheers. Yes, that makes sense. My all-time AG best is 74.56%, but as you say, with luck I should be able to sneak it over 75% after the marathon, assuming I can still even walk.

Nervous for my first marathon. I've done all I can, though, followed a plan and am not carrying any injury at the moment. After yesterday's Parkrun and a 10km at easy pace this morning on the seafront, I'll be doing nothing but a few short easy runs this week, and concentrating on stretching...
