[Football] Worst away end you have been in watching footy.

Yes, particularly as you can almost guarantee that they used grandfather rights to not reduce the capacity of that old (Archibald Leitch built) part of the stand.

That is an interesting insight, as in crowdless photos of the stand you can clearly see a marked difference in the seat spacing between the older structure and the new upper tier. I'm impressed.

I suspect it is getting extended in a similar manner to the main stand, so if you are unfortunate enough to be seated in the pre-existing part of the stand the tiny seats and non-existent legroom will remain.

Fratton Park with the roof was the last away match I went to. It reminded me why I don't miss the Goldstone that much, and hate going to places like Selhurst, Elland Road, and Portman Road. Give me the comfy seats and ample leg room (I am average height) of the Amex any day.

Or mysteriously got promoted... like, erm... Arsenal.

I had a happy time running the Surrey Half Marathon today. Well organised, the right distance, plenty of grub at the end, picking up the race number was a doddle, and I got to see Mrs Orange and the kids twice as ran round. I'm very happy with my (unofficial) 1:31:53 too, that felt like I was...

[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs Leicester City *** Official Match Thread ***

Quite, I don't think there is any questioning from either side as to whether Barnes was in an offside position when the ball was played. As for the interfering with play bit, that is a judgement call for the officials, and he was damn close the goalkeeper.

[Albion] Danny Welbeck, should we? [18/10: we did - one year deal] - *** NEW ONE YEAR DEAL ***

The couple of casual steps backwards before the corner was delivered gave him the space to move into to make the header. Nobody from Leicester tracked him as he made either that move or the one to meet the ball as the corner came in meaning he was left all alone to put the header exactly where...

    Macron's not a happy lapin

I doubt the UK gives much of a toss whether the deal to build the subs was with the French or the US as my understanding is that the bits they are providing were part of both deals. The Australians want nuclear powered subs as they can stay quiet for much longer than the diesel powered ones of...

Does your email account allow the use of aliases? For instance gmail allows 10 (I think) aliases by adding + to the end of the personal part of the email address - so yourname@gmail.com could have an alias of yourname+childa@gmail.com. The email aliases get directed to your inbox. I see...

Clashes with Surrey, sadly. Are you cycling to Barns Green again this year? I seem to remember you just missed out on a top fifty male finisher place the year I met you (2018 was the year, I was at my fittest, but was hospitalised a couple of months later and I've never fully recovered)...

That was pretty much my experience. I was with the 3.15 pacers until about half-way, but once they went ahead I knew I didn't have the legs to keep up the pace and stay with them (and I suspect I'd have joined the Shoreham Harbour carnage if I had). I think I ended up with a 4:16, but I...

Yeah, half way was just under half a mile on from where I was expecting it to be. Horrific weather for a marathon, it was carnage around the harbour with all the runners getting treatment. I was very slow today. 😉

    [Misc] Twenty Years

And in what seems like a blink of an eye it is twenty years since a bunch of misguided zealots decided to end the lives of nearly three thousand people, including Robert Eaton, one of our own. Don't forget to be nice to one another, and don't ever forget that just because you believe in...
