36 years ago this week (19th to be exact) my late dad and I walked all the way from Moulsecoomb to the Goldstone for my first match, a 3-1 win vs Sunderland.
Tonight I'll be walking the opposite direction, Preston Park to The Amex, thinking of dad and others who have shared our crazy journey...
I'll have a go. In vague order...
1. Garry Nelson
2. Bobby Zamora
3. Robbie Reinelt
4. Pascal Gross
5. Dean Wilkins
6. Alexis Mac Allister
7. Danny Cullip
8. Vicente
9. Leonardo Ulloa
10. Gary Hart
11. Lewis Dunk
12. Steve Foster
13. John Bryne
14. Richard Carpenter
15. Glen Murray
16. Inigo...
Cost of living and all that means I can rarely get to games these days but I just had to be at this one. A lofty, back row, cheap seat up above the away fans somewhere purchased.
Roll on Thursday. I hope we get flags! :albion2:
Had to dump all my old stash of programmes when clearing out my now late mother's place. There really is no interest in them although I wish I had kept one or two more than I did now.
I'm sure he won't miss being asked to relive that Wembley defeat and sum up the feeling of us going all out for revenge.
As for team news, does it really matter? We seem to have a whole squad brimming with confidence and in good form.
It all sounds so positive. A home win and a comfortable one at that. I refuse to believe it will be anything other than a stressful, nasty 90-odd minutes with Palace snatching at least a point - probably three - with a Zaha inspired stroke of luck.
