Suggested all day walk starting from Brighton...?

Would you recommend an inland route or coastal? I walked to Arundel from Worthing once, but just went straight along the coast to LA and then up the riverbank.

Suggested all day walk starting from Brighton...?

Got a day off Friday and fancy an all day walk, starting from central Brighton. Anyone got any suggestions? Was thinking 20-25 miles (6-7 hours) of actual walking, with a brief pub stop roughly every 5 miles. Looking at Google Maps, Brighton to Eastbourne looks like it might fit the bill...

[Football] Soccer AID England v Rest of the World unofficial Match Day Thread

Didn't watch it - have never owned a TV as I'm not a moron, and all international games are a muppetfest - but if it (whatever it is/was) is as bad as folks on this thread claim, I will take a fiver out of the next UNICEF collecting jug I see by way of protest.

    Steam Train.

A steam train (presumably the same one) left platform 7 at Brighton around 2pm.

Brighton in top five most congested cities

I may have met some but none of my friends (and I have more than 30) have ever driven or aspired to drive. You find that odd? I guess I don't hang out at the same sort of places - racetracks, red light districts, illegal dog fighting rinks, whatever - that you do. There is no reason for anyone...

Brighton in top five most congested cities

If by idiot you mean truth speaker, then yes I am. Email Groningen and ask them what they did - town of same size and demographics as Brighton banned cars and ended up as most prosperous and aspired to town in Northern Europe. I have lived in Brighton over 20 years and never met or known a car...

Brighton in top five most congested cities

Feck's sake why do we still (in 2014) even pander to these car-owning cretins. Ban all private cars from a line roughly South of Elm Grove and Old Shoreham Road. You'd make the entire city more popular/profitable for tourists, students and firms at a stroke. Groningen, an obscure town in...

    [Football] Americans and 'Soccer'

Can't be bothered to watch the link. Are you picking on the word? Soccer is the correct (historical, English) word. Football is a horrible internationalism.

    Ships gone that you miss?

FFS are these serious posts? The innuendo Pugwash names were were all made up by Victor Lewis-Smith in the late 90s. The Guardian paid out 150k in damages for printing them in the first place. Best NSC doesn't go the same way...

Magic Rock Brewing - Clown Juice - be afraid

7% - pah breakfast beer! I've long advocated drinking beers of similar ABV to wine (9-14.5% is my prefered range). The trick is to treat it as one would a pint of wine and take your time. I reckon the main reason that there are stronger British beers these days is the rise of American craft...

European elections - Is it REALLY a secret ballot?

Pretty sure Hastings is the once place everyone knew UKIP had at least one candidate standing for council in, given that the leaking of porn photos of one such, bearing neo-Nazi tattoos while his mate snorts powder off a hooker's arse, have been amongst the highlights of the national UKIP...

European elections - Is it REALLY a secret ballot?

To answer the original post: The UK is the only country in Europe that doesn't have secret ballots. In all elections in the UK (local, general, Euro, etc) the number on your ballot paper is registered against your name so your vote is easily traceable. Only Singapore, the Philippines and Nigeria...

    NSC Ballot Box-European Elections-Thursday 22nd May 2014

There's only really one seat up for grabs in the South East if the opinion polls are anything like accurate. UKIP will get 3 Tories will get 3 Labour will get 2 Greens will get 1 The remaining one will either go UKIP (most likely), Tory or Lib Dem.

    I'm not voting for anyone!

Saw this linked to on a mate's Facebook. http://binnythebadger.tumblr.com/ Anyone who votes is inviting bears to crap on their carpet apparently. Seems legit.

Reasons why I'm voting Roman Party

I voted for them back in 2009 and, having viewed the alternatives on offer, will be doing so again this time out. I appreciate they aren't't the highest profile party. In fact they aren't really a party by most people's definition of the word, but a lone independent invidual. Jean-Louis is a bus...

So who won the old Sussex Senior Cup?

Absolutely. Wikipedia and Twitter is mostly bullshit, but Facebook and Omnomnom are 99% believable.

So who won the old Sussex Senior Cup?

No. There were a proper bunch of ****s down. Facebook has been awash with it.

So who won the old Sussex Senior Cup?

There is no reason at all that you can't drink alcohol in view of the pitch at women's football either, yet not only was this banned at the recent Amex England v Montenegro World Cup game, but the entire ground was dry (all bars closed). Albion/caterers or FA decision? Similarly, was today an...
