Are there any other professions who should be immune from mental health problems or is it just footballers? Based on the comparison between refugee children none of us have any ‘right’ to MH challenges.
No one had missed the point. They just value the ability to help out over the financial recompense they receive (which probably is a bit light to break even in your circs). Fair enough if you can’t afford it.
I’d be volunteering if I hadn’t just had children. Don’t have the space unfortunately...
There is no replacement for Root or he’d be gone as captain. Simple as that really. Broad is the closest and he isn’t a guaranteed pick and arguably isn’t captain material anyway. We’ve got Root until (and if) Stokes decides he is up to it.
All reasonable points - but replace him with who? There is no one else in the squad for the job IMO. Outside of Stokes there is not one automatic pick and this wouldn’t be the right time for Stokes who doesn’t appear to want it anyway. We need a strong coach to come in desperately
Wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t start again for us. Head has been elsewhere for weeks. Won’t be here next season so we might as well start getting used to playing without him
This. 13 million for a 29 year old 3rd or 4th choice CB when we are already safe would have been daft. Particularly with it likely one of the loan players will have pushed him further down the pecking order next year.
We have just had a ridiculous year for CB injuries. Without that he likely...
I am seemingly a lucky one in that case - no pension changes since 05 for me. Expect it’s likely that will change and they’ll come for that too soon enough!
Work in the public sector. Haven’t had a pay increase in real terms in about a decade. Won’t be getting another one for the foreseeable future. Only the pension keeping me there - and it’s now at the point that isn’t really enough of an incentive.
Technically you could make the lawful argument that yes - both could be guilty of offences in that situation. A female can’t actually commit rape although the equivalent she could.
