Yeah, I said much the same when we were watching. The coverage isn’t his fault though and his all round performance given the circumstances was very good. I didn’t realise how good he is at the simple things like passing the ball.
The trouble is this is an anti Sheffield Wednesday thread. Some people will use that to frame how they settle old scores with Wednesday and Barry Bannon. It is similar in that sense to the current Ivan Toney thread on the board.
There isn’t a new amount of confusion in modern football other than that nowadays everyone has an opinion about everything. In the old days the ref would have decided what to do and the only discussion of it would have been by Brentford and Forest fans.
I have no idea about that either. I don’t study the ever changing landscape of football rules. If you go down the ‘whatabout’ route though I do know you will be very resentful.
I don’t see anything wrong with it. Is it against the laws of the game ? Regardless, not his fault the defender jumps out of the way. Toney is a brilliant player and showed it in that game.
I think it is a deliberate Arteta tactic. The Palace keeper was prevented from moving by White leaning into him. One to watch in case other managers start doing it.
I’m 57 so moved on to secondary school in 1978 around the time of Grammar Schools being phased out in Sussex. Dad was born and grew up in Twineham and would have been at Hove Grammar 1950 to 1957 I think. It would be nice to be able to speak to him about it but he died 15 years ago so that...
My Dad lived in the sticks so his journey in to school at Hove Grammar took an hour and a half door to door. That involved walking and buses. His parents didn’t own a car so he had no choice. It was his Mum who supported him in passing the 11 + and she and they were very proud that he was the...
My parents tried to get me in there 1978 when I moved to Secondary. I presume the thinking was that it would still retain elements of the Grammar even though it was on in its way to becoming a Comprehensive. Anyway, we were out of the catchment area so it didn’t happen. Very different to now...
I don’t doubt any of what you are saying about profits but I would pay more for a service that was guaranteed to be running. That is not the case at the moment so we don’t buy railway tickets.
This season we’ve been to Wolves, Man U,Man C and Everton away as Albion+. We also have Sheffield Utd tickets. It is very rarely that you can’t buy tickets for the northern games with membership.
Everton were under investigation by the FA when given that founding place in the FL. It should have gone to Bootle (at the time there was only one team allowed from each area).
