[Football] World Cup - The Final ….. finally.

Going on about France's lack of energy and linking it to possible bug, possibly but they've played conservative football all tournament. It's never been a high energy pressing game from them.

[Football] World Cup - The Final ….. finally.

Ah fair point. So can you imagine anyone giving the same story but with CR credence?

[Football] World Cup - The Final ….. finally.

Islas Malvinas? They are welcome to them. Peter Shilton only has himself to blame for being outjumped by a midget. Messi might get overhyped but he is one of the GOATs. Way above CR on one point alone - can you imagine Ronaldo handing his Motm award to a young player he felt head earned it...

[Politics] The Sun - nurses ?

17% doesn't even get their real terms wages back to what they were before the Tories got in. Also a back of fag packet calculation suggests all our public servants could have their demands met for less than Rishis relatively recent £7.8 billion tax cut for the city.

[Finance] Pre-Payment gas and electric meters

How annoying. I was in that situation once many years ago and it seemed quite simple to get a proper meter. The intervening period was incredibly annoying though as the previous tenants had some sort of debt repayment programme so if you topped up £20 £5 vanished instantly.

[Finance] Paying energy bills by direct debit - scam?

Well the thread has inspired me to actually check my bill thoroughly. The good news is that I am currently a mere £80 in credit so I'm not benefitting them much there. The bad news is that my monthly payment is pretty much bang on what I'd expect to pay in the worst months (adjusted for...

    [News] Lucky escape

That's got to be 40 years ago that the police proactively responded to that car/building collision by having one of their cars do it.

[Football] World Cup - Day Twenty Four - The First Semi Final

The eventual rather slow shot is cleared off the line. If not impeded by the keeper I think he had a chance of poking it in ahead of the defender. Anyhow ref gave it and there's definitely not enough to overturn the original decision.

[Football] World Cup - Day Twenty Four - The First Semi Final

I take issue with the commentary suggesting introducing Alvarez was key to their improvement post Saudi. At least mention that other player that worked his way into the starting XI

[Film] Films you love to watch at Christmas?

Rare Exports. If you've not seen it do so. Some James Stewart, but not it's a wonderful life I'll go for a western. Elf obviously. Cobra - a total mess of a Sly vehicle that proved surprisingly influential. Wake in Fright - the greatest of Oz Noir.

I don't suppose Charlton will wait until he's sacked before putting an offer in will they?

[Film] Films that sent you to sleep

I fell asleep in Jackie Brown. Only a reflection on how tired I was though. Went back to the cinema the next day to find out what happened in the middle.

[Film] Films that make you BLUB

It's the Rick Astley paradox. Imagine you ask Rick to lend you his Blu-ray of only of the second animation to ever win best picture at the Oscars. He's never going to give you Up! In doing so he's going to let you down.

[Film] Films that make you BLUB

Up! I'm in bits after the opening montage. I've been through the wringer and there's a whole film left to watch. No thanks I'm done. I need some time alone with my thoughts and hard liquor.

    [Albion] Charlton trains

I'm hoping the final Christmas family obligation shakedown leaves me able to go. If so it's looking like driving is sadly there best option. If so I'll post again as could squeeze in 7 passengers (or 5 more comfortably).

[News] Moving next to a venue...and then making a noise complaint

My favourite was a man leaning out of his flat window above the coop (Webb's Stores) complaining about the noise and smell from deliveries.

[Football] World Cup - Day Twelve

The ball was clearly in. I just want to know whether it was more in than Großs winner against United was over.
