Lewes beat Whitehawk 2-1 at the Pan today. Played 5 won 5 and top of the league. Great performance coming back from 0 - 1 down at half time. They also won their last 5 games of last season, making it a 10 game winning streak! Happy days.

[Football] First managerial casualty of the season?

From BBC Sport "Raith Rovers have surprisingly sacked manager Ian Murray just one game into the new Scottish Championship season and two months after he guided the club to the play-off final. Rovers say that despite last season's second-place finish, "results and performances since the turn...

    [Albion] Pre season Mojo

New manager and some interesting signings. I'm sad to lose Gross and really hope we keep WBG, but even if he goes I think we're strengthening. The sun is out, there were some good performances in Japan, if not quite so at QPR, but Villareal to look forward to on Saturday. It's an 8 from me.

    [Help] New oven - advice

I'd strongly recommend an induction hob. When I first used one in an Airbnb I couldn't believe how quickly it boiled a pan of water for cooking pasta. It almost defies what I thought were the laws of physics. Once you have experienced induction, I very much doubt you'll want to go back...

[Help] Another APCOA Parking Ticket Situation

The £100 to £60 should be for early settlement. Its a common ploy to make you think you're getting a discount, whereas they are really bullying you into paying because you fear the higher costif you delay. Any reduction for a minor error must be off the £60.

[Help] Listed Building Consent - re-roofing & insulation

Hmm, not sure about that. In Lewes, like for like window replacement needs Planning Permission in the conservation area, and Grade 2 listed buildings need Listed Building Consent as well. In most cases its better to go along with the council rather than fight them, as they can really make...

[Help] Another APCOA Parking Ticket Situation

I'm no expert but I think you are doomed to a fine, so I'd pay the £60 to prevent any escalation. But if you are up for a fight then I'd go for a small claims court judgement against them for the £60 as an unreasonable charge when you had paid for parking, albeit inadvertently at the wrong...

[Misc] Who taps us on the shoulder and says "time you stopped driving old fruit"?

My elderly Father in Law's car failed its MoT and was declared not worth repairing by his local mechanic. I found him a cracking 10 year old full service history Fiesta for peanuts. Turned out the garage were hoping he would stop driving as they had noticed a deterioration in his driving before...

    [Drinking] Buying wine in France

If you're there more than a few days, then visit the hypermarket when you arrive and buy a selection to test while you're there. Back in the day I used to like the really cheap and cheerful stuff. I Euro a bottle was fine for me and tatsed better than £5 a bottle in the UK. Enjoy.
