    The Ripple Effect

On the plus side, when some teenager uploads a silly video to YouTube and everybody looks at it, we are unlikely to hear the irritating expression "it went viral" again.

[Misc] What Book are you Currently Reading?

Nicholas Nickleby. My third Dickens in a row having read an excellent biography of the great author by Claire Tomalin. Might shelve it for a while however, when my copy of the Mirror and the Light arrives from Amazon.

[Football] Surprised there's no Halifax v Ebbsfleet thread

I know this is small beer compared with the general thrust of the news at the moment, but one glimmer of hope is that after all this is over, the current status quo in football might have changed irrevocably. Will the current spending power of the multi-national clubs, the divide between rich...

    Jimmy Greaves

He scored a hat trick the first time I ever saw him live and I remember my first ever "wow" moment watching football when he scored the famous goal against United at WHL in 1965. I was standing just to the right, and below the camera position. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vg7QIPJD5ac

[Football] RIP Harry Gregg "Hero of Munich"

I agree. He was also let down by VAR for that 1958 Lofthouse goal in the cup final.

[Travel] First they took our Thermos, then our bottle tops, now its cycle helmets

Do what I do and get an old cycle helmet to leave clipped round the handlebars. Having cycled to dozens of grounds, I consider Arsenal and Leicester the best for parking security. Arsenal have an area behind a guarded door and Leicester provide lockers with keys by the cycle ranks.

[Albion] What has happened to Potter ball ???

I think you are overlooking the fact that, under Hughton during the first one and a half seasons in the PL, we did play some very attractive and effective football in numerous home games. I have seen some excellent attacking football in away games at Villa, Arsenal, Spurs, Palace and Newcastle...

    [Sussex] monks farm planning

For an IKEA I quite like like it - you can escape from the junk and look out over the City Centre from the top floor windows. Everywhere else I get IKEAITIS and misbehave until the wife takes me home.
