I presume there must have been a shortlist of designs and "they" settled for this tacky mish-mash. Surely the club could include the fan advisory board if not all club members in a vote between the shortlisted designs and save all this aggravation?

It's obviously a deliberate clumsy marketing strategy: Year A - release an ugly non-traditional shirt and annoy a large section of fans Year B - return to stripes to appease those you annoyed the previous year Southampton have cynically been doing it for years...

The stupid thing is that if they ever built this monstrosity they would change a ground which has 4 completely mismatched stands into a ground that still has 4 completely mismatched stands. The obvious thing to do would be to replace the corrugated iron old stand with one that matches the style...
