I do struggle to justify paying for a lot of events to be fair, the Arena 80ac 10k for example. It's all on the Promenade, it's hard to justify the £20 (just under, I think) cost (there's not even a medal!) but they do chip timing which is ideal if you're racing against big nuts! Other events...

I think Bozza you are a different animal to most of us - me in particular! I enjoy the competitive aspect of running, even in parkrun which is a run not a race(!). I love that they are all over the country, how many people run them and how each of them has its own faces and personality. People...

I've had a similar experience as well in the past - I ran 19:04 around Hove Park one morning without a watch and ran Seaford this year in 19:40 without knowing the time. I think it's refreshing and takes some of the pressure off, but I do like to know where I am in a race. In a training run...

[Football] St Pauli v Hamburg SV (7.30)Ostigard starts, Gyökeres sub.

They don't do that madness at Borussia Mönchengladbach, and rightly so! They focus on the actual football, rather than some smoke and flares display. I want to experience a game at Dortmund - the yellow wall is unbelievable for atmosphere. And capacity!

Guinness Boy - marvellous adventures, I'm always jealous of people who go somewhere exotic. I wish I'd developed the interest much sooner, but it means that when I do get to explore, I'll enjoy it all the more for missing out all these years. I'll definitely plan my visits to places around...

It's an interesting debate about tracking times and distances etc - a friend of mine doesn't ever want to know her pace during running and doesn't track anything so she can be in the moment. There is an argument for it, but the argument against it is clearer for me - you don't know your pace, so...

[Albion] Maty Ryan - analysis & discussion

I think that come next summer, Walton is going to be absolutely banging on the door to be the first choice.

It is an unusual one - it's not so bad if it's a route you know at least partially, but if you're somewhere totally new and fresh it wouldn't be quite so enjoyable! I would very much listen to dazzer6666 - you need to throw in some quicker paced sessions and by all means go for a longer run of...

[Albion] Player Ratings - Burnley (H)

Which is why player ratings from people sitting in the South or the North need to be taken with a giant pinch of salt. They don't really know what's happening in the game. Not sure what the excuse is for anyone not noticing how brilliant Adam Webster was - probably the best home debut since...

Garry Nelson's teacher - sounds a bit of a shambles to say the least - did you effectively run both the 5k and 10k courses?! :lolol: dazzer6666 - your running exploits are beyond insane! Time really can't matter for that sort of event. The map is pretty remarkable on Strava - more of a cycle...

[Albion] Knockaert joins Fulham on initial one-year loan

Best Championship player doing well at Championship level. Lovely. When all players are fit, Knockaert doesn't make our bench. It's aftertiming to suggest we should have kept him because we have a current injury (and loaned out players) situation.

[Albion] Player Ratings - Burnley (H)

Ryan 5 Poor kicking at times, nowhere on the goal but otherwise an easy game. Duffy 6 Won his fair share of aerial duels as you'd expect, but our least composed defender in possession. Dunk 7 Marshalled the defence well, played some great passes but also some rubbish ones as well. Webster 9...

Very even pacing - I was slightly slower in the second half last week, holding that consistent pace is very impressive. I'll be honest - I'm pretty pleased that you were a bit down on my pace, I'd have been disappointed if you'd reclaimed the place in the table so soon! 26th October - pick the...

[Music] If you thought the Guardian film list was bad check out their top 100 albums of the 21st c

That list is an absolute joke. American Idiot by Green Day, Meteora by Linkin Park and Recovery by Eminem are all obvious absentees from that ridiculous list.

I've developed a bit of anxiety about running past animals over the course of this summer, never been an issue before - but I'm not a big fan of it now. Not since an angry made an aggresive movement toward me. That's one path on the Downs I'll avoid! The sheep over by East Brighton park are...

A much better session for me today - 10 miles with 2 mile progression reps and no rest in between. Splits were 15:33, 15:17, 15:03, 14:33, 13:57. I don't think the individual miles were negative splits, but the 2 mile reps were successful progression although it did help that the first 5 miles...
